EWE still has good ole baw love in the southern part of the state. I’m not surprised.
People will shite on Blanco for Katrina but I don’t think any of our recent governors would’ve been equipped to handle it.

He was just a slightly better Roemer to me, but I was in very early adulthood for Roemer and may not be remembering him correctly.

He was Huey Long without actually building or generating ANYTHING worthwhile for the state.
I mean, we still have things we can point to that Huey was responsible for.
Only thing you can say that about for Edwards is a janky casino at the foot of Canal St.

Yeah, I heard those stories about Centenary. The team back then was called 'The Iron Men' because they did not substitute starters. The best 11 guys played the whole game offense and defense. The Methodist Church complained that The Iron Men didn't sound Christian. So, they changed the name to 'Gents.' About 10 years ago the feminists complained that 'Gents' was anti-female so they changed the logo pic to some kind of hound dog.

Her failure on that was Jindal’s blueprint for what was probably his administration’s greatest success, emergency planning and execution. I enjoyed his press conferences on those fronts.
I remember during her tenure, Blanco mentioned an idea of making I-10 a toll road to raise revenue in Louisiana for road improvements and infrastructure. She was laughed at. I laughed at her.
Fast forward now, the new I-10 bridge in Lake Charles is going to be tolled.

I don't know if this would put him in the "Worst Governor" category, but Oramel H. Simpson approved, against facts and better judgement, blowing the levee below New Orleans during the Great Flood of 1927. This act was completely unnecessary as NOLA was in no danger at all of river flooding.
