This is probably the biggest issue that will rally the democrat voters to get to the polls in November.

But why. What will that change for them re: abortion even they maintain power?

It's a shame we even consider the court "political." But this decision transcends politics

How often does a draft opinion leak?

Heads should roll for that alone.

That's why the smart money is on an Alito clerk for the leak

This is a losing strategy. My friend.

I'm saying this as nicely as possible, you are not that smart.

Holy shite. This is going to get crazy.

Dems got the best thing they could ever ask for now. Huge huge galvanizing moment for them going into midterms.

I really don’t give a shite if they go to hell or not. I care how they vote when they are alive because it effects me

This is huge for Democrats. I see them making a big push in midterms now

Sadly agree. It’s a sacrifice today for the greater good of tomorrow for them. It will be balls to the wall womens and gay right rights and racism through the election. They’ll even make the case this disproportionately NEGATIVELY affects black people who have higher abortion rates than whites.

I know what you’re saying, and I know exactly what I’m about to say, but the moderates and progressives decision not to deal with the shite throwing that began in 2015 through 2016 on that board has left it hollow, vapid, and like an echo chamber on the order of magnitude of DU and Reddit. Not as bad as most views are still tolerated, but approaching them.

Popularity should not be confused with constitutionality. It’s completely irrelevant. The problem is that the Supreme Court has a recent history of being another political arm of the party in power which is not the intent. This is a state’s issue, not right/left or moral/immoral. Sadly many still don’t understand this.

I can’t remember a decision leaking in my lifetime.

Perhaps. But the decision to overturn Roe is so big, that if there ever was a case to be first to be leaked in this way, this would probably be it. Also, the conservatives probably want this to a be a major moment in American history, so it’s possible that Alito himself leaked it.

I know many think Roe v. Wade is codified law. But instead it’s actually one of the worst decisions from SCOUTUS from a legal standpoint. And considering some of the other dubious rulings it’s had in its history, that’s saying something. It has no legal grounds to stand on. There is nothing in the Constitution that establishes a right to abort a perfectly healthy fetus. The Supreme Court literally pulled it out of their arse.

Having said that, as has been pointed out, if a state wants to pass a law legalizing it there, there’s nothing in the constitution to stop them. Of course though a strong case could be put forth then that abortion violates the constitutional rights the unborn.

Will Kavanaugh and Barrett hold up under pressure?

This leak is absurd. Never happened before in history. There needs to be congressional hearings. And a disbarment. And likely also an impeachment.

Who did this and why was it that worthless box of rocks Sotomayor?

You clearly have never seen how abortions are conducted, or are one empty vessel if you don’t think killing babies in their mother’s womb isn’t barbaric. It’s nothing short of horrific and not befitting a civilized people. Truth is, it’s not befitting the animal kingdom that puts a higher value on their life than humanity does it’s own.
