Saw the below on Twitter, great point in addition to the incredible police response

The woman briefing the men before entry should also be commended. She was exceptionally calm, and provided important information about missing kids, the layout, and the attack so far. Add her to the roster when awards are recommended.

quote:The Feds offer that training for free to all police departments: large, medium, and small. Some folks respond to the emails offering assistance and others don't... The Uvalde guys were too busy reading Hustler and eating donuts to worry about training opportunities.
The difference in training from small town police departments (Uvalde) to mid size and large (Nashville) is what you witnessed.

Impressed with how calm and collected they are. Very professional.

That was ab exceptional display of white male privilege

Very impressive. They went in and were moving with a purpose the entire time. Then as soon as they hear gunshots, they don’t even hesitate before taking off running to the sound of gunfire. Were they scared? You’re damn right they were almost assuredly scared. Any human would be. But they pushed that aside and did their job in a professional manner.
Damn good job from the whole team in my opinion.

I hope Rex never has to buy a beer again and gets all the blow jobs.

No number is too high, but I’d be curious how many rounds the coroner has to pull out.
After passing that dead body that officer “Mike” said frick that. Now way I’m leaving with a full gun.

Seems like only 6 shots were fired

Ole Rex doesn’t miss. The balls on these cops and the efficiency of what they did deserves kudos.

That was really, really hard to watch as a parent of elem kids. I conceptually understand what happens but to be honest, there’s a very real side of my brain that blocks out the reality of what I just watched. Probably to allow me to feel safe dropping my kids off at school.
Thankful for cops who acted properly in this case, but still so heartbroken for those who were lost. Idk how I could ever send my child back to school had something like this occurred and they survived it.

The bigger guy with the shotgun also deserves a lot of credit. He was right up there in the front line and was brave as hell too. Masterclass from Nashville PD and although it’s a tragedy those officers represent what America is about. Frick around and find out

I'm going to post here what in did in the mass thread.
Damn that may have been the most intense thing I've ever watched in my life. Kudos to the cops, they acted very bravely. Officer Rex, he didn't sit around and wait until there were 100s of officers on scene. He called for 3, and he went right in. He took down the shooter in like 1 shot. Great shoot!
I didn't realize how bad a school is for entering into an active shooter situation. There's so many doors, hiding places, etc. Cops have to clear all of them because you never know where the shooter could be hiding.
That lady outside was amazingly calm and collected while relaying information to the officers. She probably shouldn't have been out in the open like that, but she was also very brave.
frick man, to have to walk past a dead body like that. Obviously cops did the right thing, but damn I can't imagine.
I loved the extra shots by officer Michael. I would have been ok if all of the cops unloaded on the shooter's dead body.
These officers deserve the medal of freedom. A huge raise, and really any other praise that we can possibly give them. All of them.

It should also be noted that an assault rifle is the tool used to end this threat.
"Good guy with an assault rifle to the front!!"

He had a handgun, the dudes in front had rifles. It makes sense for them to be in position to take the first shots

Thought it was more. The “Mike” cop that I’m talking about fired 3-4 times?
Maybe I’m getting confused by the angles and different cameras. Also did the shooter fire? Looks like he (?) was looking out the window by the way she fell? And fell quick either head shot or perfect center mass shot that paralyzed from chest down.
The first cop in the video is awesome. fricking lesson for Uvalde. “I need 3”!!
I guess that’s fricking it. Just need three. Can’t have 40 cops moving like an amoeba. Just need 3. The rest hang back and help. Or shoot anyone who runs out looking armed.

quote:maybe, but maybe not. You listen to high level military operators and you can tell those guys enjoy their job and shooting bad guys was the reason they signed up for it. If I had to guess after seeing dead children there wasn’t a lot of fear in that dude. Just pissed off aggression and the urge to drop the motherfricker as soon as possible
Were they scared? You’re damn right they were almost assuredly scared. Any human would be.
