I loved Jeffrey. Next time you’re in there, look for the pic of him with Dick Cheney. He’s got it up in about three spots and it’s hilarious. It’s like he photo-bombed a pic of the back of the VP’s head.

RIP to one of BR’s great restaurateurs and memorable characters.

When he rolled out the Mongolian bbq in the mid 80s, my life improved greatly. Tremendous hangover food. Hit me with that spicy sauce , man.

Jeffrey was the Man!! Back in the late 80's through mid-90 to late 90s seemed like we ate every lunch at Hunan's when we were doing the Heart of Baton Rouge Magazine.
If we didn't come in one day for lunch, the next day, he would be upset with us and so glad to see us coming back in.
RIP Jeffrey

How do you accidentally call someone a chinaman?

Worked there for a bit back in college, trust me he was way different in front of customers than he was to people that worked there. Rip nonetheless

Me--Hey Jeffrey can I have another soy sauce packet for my to-go order?
Jeffrey--No, 1 is all you need.
Lol. Mr. Jeff was tight on those to go packets.
Really was a good man. He loved this country and was proud to have become an American.

So did I. Not the best guy to work for but quite the character.
You should hear about his infamous gold club exploits.
RIP.
