I'm going to be the contrarian and say Easter Vigil may not be a good choice for a first time mass. It's 3 hours long and even if you come from a church where the pastor can be long-winded, the vigil mass has a ton of readings and responsorial Psalms, complete with standing, sitting and kneeling. Don't be mistaken, the Easter Vigil is an incredible, powerful thing. It just might not be the right introduction for a first timer.

It really shouldn’t matter if you are catholic or not, if a person wants to start attending church, then feel free to go.
Jesus would not once ever not welcomed someone to listen to His word.
So if that’s an issue with any at the church then that’s a man made nonsense thing and not at all what the basis of Christianity is even about.
Jesus will gladly accept you and if a person has an issue with it, they might wanna look back into the red writing because Jesus has His arms open to everyone

I attended Catholic mass for 20 years before eventually converting last year.
There is so much meaning to parts of the mass that I was unaware of.

I have never been in a Catholic Church that didn't welcome visitors. You have to be Catholic to receive communion but you can go up with everyone else and get a blessing from the priest.

JTB wasn’t actually Baptist.
The original Greek work used in reference to John the Baptist actually meant ‘baptizer’ - one who baptizes.
Was not a foreshadowing nor a nod to the Baptist faith.
Which I might add - the Baptist faith forbids drinking alcohol- and JTB and the other disciples and Jesus himself all partook.

As others have said, technically no mass on Good Friday - but most churches will have the stations of the cross.
Regardless, just go. Whatever mass time you can make and whatever parish, try that. Catholic or not, you are welcome.
I went through RCIA at Mercy about 10 years ago, and am so thankful God guided me there. Incredible experience and still have so much to learn

Just follow along with what everyone else does, and you'll blend right in. There are really only a few times when you stand, and only a couple times during the consecration of the Eucharist when you kneel. It's super easy to follow along.
Nobody will know you're not Catholic unless you tell everyone, and if you do, you'll be the most welcomed person in the building. Hugs and "thank you so much for coming" type stuff.
Just cross your arms when your row gets to front for communion, and don't take the eucharist. The priest will offer you a short blessing, and then you go back to your seat.

Just follow the crowd in what they do. Yeah, but lots of kneeling and getting back up to either sit or stand in the traditional Catholic Mass.
You won't know the responses, and frankly, neither do some of the people attending the mass.
The good thing is mass has been in English for decades now and no longer in Latin, so you can at least follow it.

There’s no way to forbid anything as each church is different and has different membership standards. I know men in my church that drink. It’s universally accepted that drunkenness is a sin but there’s still an argument about the basal consumption of alcohol.
I only recently changed my tune on it and removed all distilled, high ABV beverages from my home. There’s many passages in the Bible that reference the danger and sinful nature surrounding alcohol.

not weird please feel free to go. Just remember you can not take the Eucharist but you can go up with your arms croosed and receive a blessing.
