If you are considering converting, please consider attending an ACTS retreat. It's catholic. But takes those who are also thinking about it.
It will change your life for the better and let you grow close to others on the same journey.

God bless your decision

Just go to the mass of your choosing and find a spot in the church. Follow along with the rest of the congregation and if you ask someone next to you they’ll gladly help you and show you where the readings are located in the missal and how to follow. You’ll be just fine and you’ll feel even better after the mass. Happy Easter.

Go Thursday afternoon and Easter Sunday. The most important 2 days for Catholics. Thursday is the last supper. Many of Jesus’ most important messages was the Thursday before they killed him. There’s no masses on Friday. There are stations of the cross ceremonies. Thursday and Sundar are Holy days on obligation, not friday..

Nothing like one true church that has split itself into 20,000+ denominations. If sola scriptura were logical it would lead to one unified understanding. It however isn’t logical and contains no anchor by which to find and protect truth and thus splits itself at every disagreement. Did Christ not call for a one unified Church?

Well I guess the first thing you should know is Good Friday is the one day a year there is no Mass.

There is a prayer service and it should be very penitential in nature. Good Friday is a very somber day, it’s the day the chosen people turned on the Lord and nailed him to a cross.

It won’t be weird if you go, but if you’re going to be at a Mass pick another day of the year.

This link will explain the acronym "RCIA". Contact that local Catholic Church and ask to be put into contact with an RCIA person from that Church. That person is experienced in answering questions and guiding you towards the path that's right for you. That person is in charge of guiding people like you who are actually on the path of becoming Catholic.

At the Easter Vigil this coming Saturday night, lots of brand-new Catholics are going to be officially entering the Catholic Faith. It's a great ceremony, but, it is the longest Mass by far of the year - takes 2 hours, maybe a bit more.

The RCIA person can help you figure it out.

Yes. This is His most important prayer - directly addressed to God the Father.
He left a Church and prayed for the Unity of that Church.

Do it...its a great journey if you let it be.

whatever your faith, always remember, "God will meet you wherever you are in your journey, and take you further."

Church is just like any other life activity or organization/club. Find a spot where you feel comfortable and welcomed. Don't be scared to attend different churches until you find one.

Yeah its been quite the journey. Once the first plank fell (sola scriptura), everything else just sort of fell into place.

Also, don’t be weirded out by the veneration of the cross. Pay attention to the lyrics of the hymns and prayers. There’s deep meaning in them. The instrument of our salvation!
Some of the most ancient and significant texts of Christian prayer are chanted or sung at the 3:00 Veneration of the Cross service.
Go. Definitely go. Listen, watch, and hopefully the musicians at the parish are up-to-snuff.
I'd invite you to St. Rita of Cascia in New Orleans, but it sounds like you're in Baton Rouge. My singers are GOOD. We will be doing the ancient stuff.

I prefer to call it solo scriptura because every Protestant gets to fly their own plane
