Baton Rouge folks, check out this new app, it’s basically a catalogue of restaurant/bar specials (happy hour, kids eat free, etc.) in the EBR area. Created by BR locals. [link=(http://www.thesaveryapp.com)]Savery[/link]...
As others have said, technically no mass on Good Friday - but most churches will have the stations of the cross. Regardless, just go. Whatever mass time you can make and whatever parish, try that. Catholic or not, you are welcome. I went through RCIA at Mercy about 10 years ago, and am so th...

I am facing a situation where my job may be going away in Louisiana. Doing well with my company and have a good reputation/likelihood of landing another role in the company, but likely will be forced into moving to Houston or elsewhere, or taking a major pay cut to stay home. Lose, lose with fam...
Only trumpers again finding childish and totally irrelevant lines of attack. This is the way we want to decide our president? No wonder this country is failing, idiots led by idiots. ...
The mental gymnastics to make this a bad story would make the msm blush. The must frustrating thing about the Trump campaign and only-Trump folks is the knee jerk reaction to even the slightest hint of competition. It comes off as weakness, all this desanctus, the “you promised not to run”, and ...
So his policy and achievements are great, but he’s not babysitting Trump, so he’s out? I agree with the assessment on what is happening to Trump. Horrendous and awful lawfare by a corrupt gov’t. But to say Desantis is now somehow responsible for defending Trump is just nonsensical. Ron has no le...

Therein lies the issue, probably playing muni course, nothing special. Probably going to play because I’ll take any chance I get to play a full 18 since I have young kids and little spare time when home. Just have to layer up and hope for the best. ...

How cold is too cold for golf

Posted by dogfood on 5/1/23 at 4:55 pm
Boss told me to bring clubs on a company trip, but looks like it’s going to be under 45 degrees the whole time. I love golf as much as the next guy, but 40 and windy seems miserable. ...
So being able to actually use the tens of thousands of dollars we’ve paid into the system, specifically for education, on education, is now a handout? It’s better that money just disappear in to the black hole of the gov’t? Voucher system isn’t great, but definitely a step in the right direct...

It is the local school boards, sheriffs offices, etc that approve this, not the gov. That’s actually one of the changes JBE put in place, approval authority goes to the impacted areas, and he reduced the benefit from 100% for 10 years, to 80% for 5 years with an option to be approved for another 5. ...
Not about NEEDING a tax break. Sure it helps, but at the end of the day, it’s about finding the best site for the project. If LA wants the jobs and tax revenue generated here, then incentives like this is a way to compete with other states… ...
