I’m not Catholic, but I’m considering converting. would it be weird to attend Good Friday mass? Is there anything i should know going into or? Will other members think it’s weird that a non catholic is attending? Planning on going to most blessed sacrament, btw

It’s not Mass but don’t get caught up in the semantics. It’s the Holiest three days of the liturgical year. If you really want to experience go to St Agnes the next evening to their Easter vigil.

There technically isn’t a mass on Good Friday, but it wouldn’t be weird at all to attend the liturgy.

Also, don’t be weirded out by the veneration of the cross. Pay attention to the lyrics of the hymns and prayers. There’s deep meaning in them. The instrument of our salvation!

Do you plan on bringing a sign or wearing a name tag announcing that you aren't Catholic?

Good Friday Mass

Only day of the year the Catholic Church does not actually have a Mass.

It’s more of if they start kneeling or doing some action that I wouldn’t know to do. Nice smartass comment, tho fig.

The most powerful liturgical prayer in the church. There’s typically a fire that’s they use to bless the pascal candle used at every baptism in the next year, then that candle lights candles held by each attendee providing most if not all the light in the church, until just passed half of the readings when the Gospel reading is about to be proclaimed. Very special and sacred time.

Just follow along. Take the time to observe and listen to the readings/gospel and homily. You can go up during communion just cross your arms over your chest and receive a blessing. If you are really interested in joining the catholic church look up the RCIA programs in your parish.

Hopefully you're able to catch the best/most haunting song in the Church:

You ought to just go to the one true church

Baptists are the original Christians, Jesus was baptized by John the Baptist into the Baptist faith
