I'm just referring to USA cities.

This is some poignant photography.

Interesting how the lady in the first pic is still obese.

The one with the blue tarps looks like there was a hurricane or something. So yes those people are homeless, but its likely the hurricane did it.

ETA: I see you have removed that one

Legit "could you live here for (insert random time) for a million bucks" question.

Yep.

It amazes Scruffy how that is a thing.

It seems like it almost happened overnight that we decided we were cool with this.

It's weird.

If those are the same ones that take dumps in the street, can you imagine the size logs they are laying down out there?

I'm not the boss of you, but I'll vote the levee shack remains the same.

Just got back from a trip to Portland, where homelessness is pretty substantial. What amazes me is how they tolerate the homeless there, even though the homeless show a blatant disrespect for the environment around them. Beautiful, tree and flower adorned areas littered with trash and feces.

They’re landless people, they have a home, albeit a shitty one.

I didn’t get a chance to vote.

I vote, “Not OK”.

Since when does community property get to be commandeered for long term personal use? Usage for which the property was never intended?

Let me be clear, these are not homeless people. These are permanent campers and squatters.

Definitionally, a homeless person is someone who is more than temporarily and short-term homeless despite all efforts on their part to secure a domicile.

When I see a homeless person on a street corner I often wonder why there is trash all about the area--even right where they stand. I think I'd be more inclined to give them a few bucks if they policed the area, cleaned things up, showed a little pride in their work.
