also just shifts the problem from one community to the next. Like the bussing the homeless out of town for major events.
Well, that’s what I was getting at. Without creating a space they can legally exist in, you are just ticketing and arresting people until they either go to the next town or are in your jail long term. Either way you’ve ensured it’s far harder to get back into society based on a criminal record and growing debt from the cases.

It says the homeless can stay well fed. Not necessarily healthily nourished, but in some cases that is by choice. Some folks would rather eat fatty foods than a healthier foods, even if given options.
If they get 3 bucks, I can’t blame them for thinking a couple fast food burgers is likely the easiest and bulkiest meal they are getting.
It’s not like they have a ton of storage and cook for themselves options.

The problem is that they are made semi comfortable, with food, services, support, etc.
The cities with the best support, have the most homeless.

The problem is that they are semi-comfortable as opposed to being homeless in and of itself?
Doesn't make a lot of sense.

There’s certainly an easy fix,
Considering how big the homeless problem is (and getting worse), I’m not sure how anyone can say it’s an easy fix.

And I suppose if you treat them increasingly aggressively that a certain level of cruelty will weed out the trust fund kids... but at some level there’s a population that will not be able to just decide they are done being homeless and we just have a race to come up with the best ways to scare them into the neighboring towns trap because it’s not as harsh as ours?

It's the infallible pull yourself up by the bootstraps theory.

Come on man. Mental illness is the #1 reason for all of this. Drug use is also a reason, which is used to attempt to treat their mental illness.
Yeah it’s a mental illness but not one that prevents performing regular activities like working. “Mental illness” is the new phrase that’s used as an excuse for many when it should be reserved for the few.

Look at the state of the country and tell me it's a thing related to the few. It's a HUGE problem.

If you read the context it is a few. You think a huge part of this country has a condition that prevents them from being a functional member of society? Or do we have a problem with people not having the ability to deal with situations that don’t go exactly how they want? Temper tantrums aren’t a mental illness.

If you stop watching CNN, it gets a hell of a lot better.
The majority of the country is fine

I wouldn't know, I don't watch the news. Every time I'm forced to listen to Fox News it sure doesn't sound fine though. Sounds like we're about to be forcefully overtaken. You saying they're lying to me?

If you're being "forced" to listen to Fox News or any station for that matter, then it sounds like you have been forcefully overtaken already.
