If you just include the public employee, I wouldn’t have been able to vote until 3 years ago since I worked for a public, state hospital.
And I have held that opinion for years.

Nah, your positions are wildly inconsistent. Hypothetically, you would choose Polish citizenship. Also hypothetically, you have to serve in the military to vote. Are these hypotheticals in the same hypothetical universe? Are you going to serve in the Polish military so your newly minted Polish arse can vote? Yet, I have served, and you would disenfranchise me in real life.

In one, it's ok for you to choose Poland as a second country in your personal Fantasyland, even though it's against your wobbly principles. But you would deny me dual citizenship in the real world when I have actual birthright citizenship in both countries. The other hypothetical about voting and the military is your odd curveball, not mine. I was just curious to see if you were gonna be a Polish infantryman, or just squat in Krakow and not vote. Let's also not forget the hypothetical where the United States and Canada are at war and I have to choose my allegiance. That's just as dumb as your other inventions.

That is one of the dumbest viewpoints I have ever seen before.
I mean, I could pretend to support the concept. It isn’t hard.
So, in your mind, if a person doesn’t agree with a premise, they cannot give a hypothetical answer in the “universe” where that premise would apply?
That is what has your panties all bunched?
You should really revisit that thought process.
Having the ability to think about other positions beyond what you personally hold isn’t a complicated practice.

Although your situation is somewhat different, if you immigrate to a country or become a citizen of a country, the new country should expect the individual to give up their previous citizenship and pledge allegiance to their new nation.
I don’t know why that would be controversial to want immigrants to America to become solely citizens of America.
As for international conflict, the USA has fought with nearly every single one of our current allies in its short existence, including Canada, although the argument could be made that it was technically the UK at that time.
ETA: We haven’t fought with Australia, New Zealand, Iceland, Finland, and Sweden.
