Put it on the intersection dividing Bourbon between the straight area and all the gay bars and it will serve a dual purpose.

Had a problem with removing the statues, no problem with this though.

Strange that the same people who feel like they are somehow excluded from whatever feel the need to seperate/designate themselves from the heterosexual population.

You're not special and no one gives a shite that you're gay.

Can't these people just live their lives without constantly crying for attention?

This is the reason I have no problem with it. There has been a large gay presence on bourbon for years.

I have no problem with this only if it is limited to one or two and they are at Bourbon and St. Ann by the Pub and Oz. People that bitch about this will probably never even see the crosswalk.

We got ours done in the Montrose area of Houston over the weekend. Fits the location.

And I've always associated N.O. with a large gay population. I don't understand the resistance to this.

Because NO has much more pressing issues that are being ignored. 13 people shot in a single day 2 weekends ago. Streets are in disrepair. Police dept is undermanned. The jail is under a federal consent decree due to mismanagement. But we're worried about repainting crosswalks and removing 100 year old statues

I honestly think it would be a decent idea for the gay section of bourbon. They already have the flags, the locals know it is the gay section. This should appease the rednecks that are deathly afraid of catching the gay gene, because it would alarm them of when they are in "their" domain
