My COVID stance of basically just gotta let it ride has been largely unchanged since the get go.

I've seen more ppl shift towards this line of thinking.

My brother on the other hand has reversed. He was towards just gotta let it ride though April.
Now he's a full fledged mask/lockdown "if we wear masks for a month it'll all go away" advocate.

He's educated. A professional.
I suspect maybe an acquaintance died or something.
I've got no idea why the change.

Have you all seen ppl change?
Which way?
Why?

Have you asked him what he’ll think if he’s still wearing a mask 3 or 4 months from now?

AOC is educated... doesn’t make you smart or rational...

What’s his feelings on all the data that’s been misreported , like Florida’s 98% positive rate... actually it was just a decimal error .. 9.8%... our bad lol.

But yes the data never scared me from the start. Plus I know I got it back at Christmas and being overweight , I was a prime suspect for hospitalization ( never got that bad ) except the body shakes and sweating and high fever , but I was fine after 2 days..

Mental illness is strong with the mask wearers

Or maybe your brother knows he has very poor genetics and nature is coming for him. Why is he against nature? Sounds alt-right.

I'm not sure exactly what your parameters of "just gotta let it ride" are, but it would be interesting to see an alternate universe type of scenario where no steps were taken to see how it played out.

My parents willingly wore mask and gloves in March/April.

Now they both refuse to wear masks.

Why did they change? Because masks became a form of political virtue signaling.

Maybe. People tend to think irrationally when their emotions get fired up.

I honestly don't know that I think anymore.

I was all for a temporary shutdown like we had while they figured this stuff out and let us keep from overwhelming hospitals. I had in my mind by the summer we would be back to normal.

Then the goal post moved and this shite is dragging out and the scare tactics are on a full on blitz and it pissed me off.

Lately I've come around and am more open minded about the mask wearing and have done so where requested, even though I'm not convinced that it's making a big difference.

The thing I feel strongest about at the moment is that kids need to be back in school, but the loons are winning the battle all over the country and it makes me want to puke.

Our genetics are strong. Everybody lives 90+.

He doesn't take care of himself.
I on other hand do. I exercise a lot(running, circuit training, basketball) and eat pretty good.

He told me that "I'll die and he'll live because of mask".

He's usually a rational guy. I don't get it.

All of that exactly mirrors me.

Was fine with the temporary shutdown. I'm fine with masks and would never refuse to wear one because I'm not a dick. But I question the effectiveness too.

And I 100% think kids should be in school.

I said from the get go. Isolate the frick out of frail and old ppl. I knew mortality nowhere near 3% they were talking. I saw all the celebs and athletes getting it. Figured infections 30 fold plus underreported at the start.
I was basically down with Sweden model. They did a shitty job keeping it out of nursing homes admittedly.

My boss has gone from a “frick it Freddie” to a full blown Covid Karen in about a week. I called him out on it this morning.

I’ll wear a mask where it’s mandatory, I won’t wear one anywhere else. I think that both extremes of the mask debate are rather silly.
