This is where mine are at. They’ve gone from total isolation to booking trips and eating at restaurants every chance they get.
Life is not worth living if you don’t do anything enjoyable. They just need to stay away from sick people, wash their hands, etc. They’ll be fine.

lungs.
For the first six weeks there were no family visits at all. I brought them food once a week and I wore mask and gloves and stood outside while passing stuff to them.
My mom was starting to get said about not seeing the grandkids so we arranged for a few meals with them where we sat outside to eat.
Now she has said she hates not being able to hug or us to be normal and she doesn't care if she catches it because she probably only has a few years left anyway. So we go out to eat some and enjoy normal meals at each others houses with the family.
It be what it be.
Pretty much ditto with my parents. We don’t take stupid chances with them but control what can control easily. My mom has said the same thing, I can’t live without hugging my kids and grandkids and I may only have a few years left anyway.

My 88 year old grandmother was already in eff it mode back in May saying she would rather die than not get to see my boys. Then her 96 year old brother and 93 year old sister are still here after testing positive over 6 weeks ago and she is back to life before the rona

Sounds like you're from hardy stock.

Most people said eff it once the goals became non-existent, vague or impossible.

My stance has been Darwin. Let’s clean this population up!

While I'm not ready to be that "harsh" I do wonder why it's not talked about a shitton more on how much worse this is on the obese people with all of their issues that come with their choice to live so unhealthy?
You never know, if it was put out there a lot more, some might actually choose to start living a little healthier.

Because that would be fat shaming, and we as a society have been falling all over ourselves not to make them feel bad about themselves for the last 15 years or so

I really am flabbergasted that no states have pushed public health improvements.
Push people to lose weight, walk, get diabetes under control.

I hate when people say this shite. Everyone and their mother “had it back in December.”
Posted on 7/20/20 at 4:24 pm to Privateer 2007
I think a lot of people are just frustrated.

My sister had it and is obese, and has liver disease. She was very sick for 30 days, but survived. She did not go to hospital, she just toughed it out.

Exactly the same as it is now except it would’ve built herd immunity and no one would be talking about it anymore. Same amount of deaths and infection rates

I just got Antibody results (free Oschner antibody testing).
Negative.
Not surprised. I had figured about 10% chance.
I'm active but practice good hygiene.
Everybody is sure they had it but won't get Antibody test.
Side note: how long do antibodies last? I realize they naturally go away and T cell immunity remains.

I fricking HATE this line of thinking. Like how did it get here in the first place? I cant believe educated people believe it would disappear off the face of the Earth. Its impossible to lockdown completely anyway. What about ER visits. Power companies. Food producers.

I am still a just roll with it from the start

I don’t mind doing some shite to help my fellow man but every time you turn around the story changes. I’ve been wearing the mask when needed and I understand spreading people out in restaurants and stuff like that, but talk of shutting down gyms again (and bars already) is just pandering. We can take precautions as we work our way through this but the time to hide from it has to end. No more closures or cancellations. That shite is harming us as much as the virus at this point.
