My covid stance hasn't changed. Work from home, leave me alone, set my groceries or my food outside and get off my lawn. I hate most people except hot super models.

My brother is ultra-MAGA, hates the Left, and is quick to call out fake news but something about the incessant fear mongering has made him a masker. He wears gloves everywhere and goes through more sanitizer than a pre-school. He did that he won’t go back to his gym until a vaccine is found. He visited my house once during this whole thing and he wore a mask. I couldn’t tell if he was serious or just messing with me.
I tease him, abuse him, try to talk sense into him and he keeps saying “well, if I get sick, at least I’ll know that I did everything I could to prevent it.”

I was all for a temporary shutdown like we had while they figured this stuff out and let us keep from overwhelming hospitals. I had in my mind by the summer we would be back to normal.
Then the goal post moved and this shite is dragging out and the scare tactics are on a full on blitz and it pissed me off.
Lately I've come around and am more open minded about the mask wearing and have done so where requested, even though I'm not convinced that it's making a big difference.
The thing I feel strongest about at the moment is that kids need to be back in school, but the loons are winning the battle all over the country and it makes me want to puke.

My brother has thrived in this. He can easily work from home.
His wife will run all the errands alone to limit exposure in the house. He and my nephew are night owls so it's nothing for them to break out the playstation and play all night with no bus to catch for school.
He's not a big people person. I figure he's fine with my sister in law freaking out about everything because it just prolongs the current status quo for him.
My 70 year old parents have hit f-it mode though. They did what they were supposed to do for a few months, now they don't give two fricks about it.

It's a tricky one - I was also a 'just let it ride' but with the addition of 'those at risk need to stay extra safe and away from everyone'.
Now that a vaccine is getting closer, I'm moving more toward let's open up but social distance and take precautions (i.e., masking up) to quell as much as we possibly can.

Not sure about his health but his weight has maybe gone up a little. He bikes alone so he stays active that way.
To the other poster who asked about his masks, he has a collection. Some look sturdy and made of something like flannel. He used the disposable masks if it’s a quick errand.
After shopping, he takes a shower and washes his clothes. Stuff like that. Legit OCD behavior.

I guess another thing that has changed for me, and probably not for the better, is how I'm dealing with my elderly parents.
Dad is 81 and mom is 82 with a bad heart and not great lungs.
For the first six weeks there were no family visits at all. I brought them food once a week and I wore mask and gloves and stood outside while passing stuff to them.
My mom was starting to get said about not seeing the grandkids so we arranged for a few meals with them where we sat outside to eat.
Now she has said she hates not being able to hug or us to be normal and she doesn't care if she catches it because she probably only has a few years left anyway. So we go out to eat some and enjoy normal meals at each others houses with the family.
It be what it be.

As new information comes out, I would expect people to change their thoughts.
Personally, I think while the medical situation is serious, the mental health and economic situation of the lockdowns are much, much worse.
We need to tell people at risk, stay home, and we the people will make sure you have everything you need to stay home. We will deliver you food, medical supplies, leisure materials, whatever. We will make sure you can communicate with the outside world. But you need to stay TF in your house for a few months, or until we can get this thing under control to where it is no longer a life or death issue for these people.

Most hospital workers in our hospital (especially our department in rehab) went from pretty nervous initially to not giving a frick. We’re still 23/23 negative on antibodies tests (not all have had actual tests without anyone getting sick. We all eat lunch together at our small table without masks, don’t wear masks in our documentation room, etc.
