It's just been my personal experience that people who work state jobs are sensitive in nature and like to copy the boss on everything. Those I've worked with at private companies don't give a crap about copying the boss on every email.
Just my personal experience.

It happens sometimes.
Would not happen if deadlines were met though.

Looks like someone got held accountable

we have a dude that BCCs the CEO all the time, such a punk move
Posted on 4/8/20 at 5:28 pm to SouthboundTiger
it's not always about you. it's so whatever they asked for goes straight to their boss when you reply.

CEO should fire his arse. That's horrible.
People who do it are consistently terrible at their job too. If you gotta prove to the man that you're doing your job, you ain't doing your job

I copy my own boss on all emails just to land the first punch

Maybe if you got shite done in a timely manner, they wouldn't do it.
Timely as in a reasonable time frame?
Or Timely as in, the douche who is copying your boss has no workload and is expediting you to make themselves look better?
99% of the time it's latter.

After I’d been working for a company for 15 years or so the boss hired his daughter. Every email, regardless if it was only a “merry Christmas” email or some shite, she would CC her dad. So annoying. And every time I would reply to her only, not reply all.

I’ll cc HR with the quickness
Posted on 4/8/20 at 5:46 pm to SouthboundTiger
Do these individuals think the boss has time for this shite?
Posted on 4/8/20 at 5:48 pm to SouthboundTiger
You can always tell when they know they are the one that messed up. They wont copy anyone.

I have to do this a lot, but being in internal audit nobody wants to respond to us and it is the only way for us to get the stuff we need...lol

I’m talking about the CC for when one of your subordinates messes up something. So instead of confronting you, they just copy your boss.
A direct report or someone that you are just higher up than

1) You aren't prompt in replying and people feel like they have a hard time getting an answer out of you.
or
2) THEIR boss said, "check with SouthboundTiger" so they cc'd you to follow the orders their boss gave them.
or
3) Your boss told them, "cc me on anything you send SouthboundTiger" - could be a good thing because he/she will see how "in demand" your time is and maybe shift some of the burden off you or compensate you accordingly. More likely, it's bad though; rumor is going around that you're an unresponsive dickhead who keeps screwing up and it's another way for your boss to keep an eye on you.

Those people are worse than the people that hold the door for you when you're like 30 feet away and make you do that half run half walk bullshite.
I didnt even know the blind cc was a thing. We live in a world full of passive aggressive pussies

You gotta REALLY be an arse or screw up or something for me to include bosses. I give people the benefit of the doubt. It has to be pretty obvious that you're being a bad actor on purpose.

I actually make a point to ignore those even more. Same with read receipts. If you put a read receipt on an email i'm sending a confirmation that it was opened and never replying to you.
I think we must be related.
