Kinda adjacent topic to the original OP, but how many emails do most of yall get in a day? I get upwards of 100 emails most days.

Love it when they try to leverage that on me when I push back on some dumbshit. "I'm going to reach out to your owner, we go way back".

Like I'm not highly qualified in a niche industry at a young age and I can also draft as a side hustle. I'll find work. This isnt the dust bowl boomer.

Yep I can’t stand when lazy mofos can’t bother to send a I’ll get back to you email and ignore your email for weeks. I’ll put your lazy arse on blast when I have to sit there and tell my supervisor I’m still waiting on a response time and again.

I did this once before when I had an administrative assistant who either questioned every task I assigned her or flat out refused to do it. I didn't have the authority to fire her. Then I was told in my own performance review to stop trying to do everything myself and utilize the admins more. So from that day on every task I assigned to this particular admin I copied our supervisor. Problem resolved itself quickly

Agreed ??

It’s also ridiculous when your superior demands it

Been there, don’t that. Those frickers will do everything possible to deflect and undermine you.

Please, do the needful and avoid working for any Indian companies.

I have a coworker who always copies our boss on every email she sends to me. He told me he asked her to stop because he didn't need to see them, but she still does it.

This…..but it goes down to 1 quick if you are habitually non-responsive.

this happens in my company all the time. my boss hates it and thinks the people who do it are complete assholes. i agree. he has told people to stop including him.

i had to get something taken care of with our plant in detroit and emailed/messaged with the person who i knew was responsible for it directly. on a weekly plant call, that person's manager was upset that i did not include him on it. i was like "well, we didnt need you and it's already taken care of. that's our job."

super annoying

It rarely happens to me but this is what I do. Never miss an opportunity to take credit for the workload you handle.

You want to "build your brand" as much as possible in Corporate America.

Not nearly as bad as”reply all” when not necessary. We (USPS) had an email chain so big it made the national news. People were adding messages at the bottom like Go Colts! or Go Jets!

As an executive and former manager level employee I actually requested to be CC’d. I just want to be in the loop when someone is asking or giving my people tasks from a workload standpoint. It’s my job to make sure they prioritize things appropriately and don’t get overloaded with bs outside of what they’re supposed to be doing.

Also, don’t want to be blindsided by something I had no idea they were involved in.

Could be worse. I got an email today from our group president and he cc’d our OCEO, EC, and half the board.

I know most of the people on those committees, but not all of them. It was a “clarification” on a pissing match I created between him and a remote office. It didn’t leave me in a bad light, but copying up instead of down was a little weird.
