What's the point in this? I can only assume it's to try to get someone in trouble over every little thing.

Quit fricking up and this won't happen

Maybe you shouldn't be so lazy and get your work done.

Why would anyone here be CC’ing my manager?

Not going how you planned, huh?

CC theirs on the reply. If we're playing children's games.....

They are trying to get you off of TD.com and back to work.

This is a very specific thread.

It made your arse respond quicker, didn't it?

I work with a guy who is probably the least valuable part of our core team. Doesn't do too terribly much, takes long lunches, leaves early, etc.
Any time he is doing something even SLIGHTLY "abnormal" for our job, he will be sure to send an email and copy our bosses, sometimes he'll copy our whole department. One time he had to work in the evening (for a scheduled, planned occurence he is in charge of). Sure enough he sends an email at like 8:30 that was utterly pointless, I think it was somethign like "so and so [one of the part timers that works evenings] is doing a great job, just wanted to give some recognition!" I'm pretty sure I'm the only one that sees through this garbage, as it was just an excuse to show everyone he was on-site that late. Or other times he may be in town for personal/pleasure, and may swing by the building for like 2 minutes for nothing realy in particular, and of course do the same thing and fire off a pointless email. Just so everyone can see he's there on a Saturday.

That won't work. It's never their fault when they screw up. Also, nothing is ever their job.

This guy has management written all over him. Managers do what it takes.

From my experience the people who do this suck at their job and are trying to show the boss that they actually accomplish something. Like a "look at me boss, I'm conducting business"

The worst is the pussy that Bcc's the manager in every email.

I only do this for habitually lazy people that never do the shite that I need done. Only about 1 person like that at my current job.

There could be a few good reasons that doesn't involve trying to get you in trouble:
1. Person isn't sure the request should go directly to you
2. Person wants to keep manager in the loop for time allocation
3. Person wants to keep manager in the loop for feedback if needed
4. Manager asked to be included in emails
Being CCed used to bug me, but I find most of the time it's pretty innocent, unless the email is directly attacking you.

Speaking as a manager, I hate when people fill my inbox by cc'ing me on every little email they send to my peons.
