I asked HR a simple policy question a while back and her response came back with my bosses boss CC'd. It was completely uncalled for.

Has no effect on me. I don't respond to about half of his emails because it's usually him trying to get me to do his job or fix something he screwed up.

Do your job and this won’t be necessary

I’m an arse. I’ll email you asking for results that is part of your job. But if I don’t get an answer in a timely manner (a couple of days depending on the task), I forward that original email to you that shows the time and date, and then ask the same question while CCing your manager.

I don’t care if you don’t do your job 95% of the time, but I won’t let others affect my work.

I hate that crap. Some micromanaging bosses or managers actually require that. It is just so damn petty. Although it’s not an issue now with me, i used to just hit reply and not reply all. I also never click yes to read receipts.

When his job becomes my job I'll do it. Until then...

If anyone cc'd my boss on an email I'd reply; "you don't need to cc ______________, if there's anything he needs to know I'll tell him."

rarely I'll CC your manager because it's CYA

In specific occasions, I'll cc your manager because I already know, you're going to need him to sign off on it

mostly, it's because this is the 2nd time I've emailed this to you and you still havent responded

in every email

Every time? - you have consistently, over a long period of time, refused to respond to my emails in a timely fashion. I am fricking done with your shite, and will continue to drag you thru micromanagement hell for the foreseeable future

What's the point in this? I can only assume it's to try to get someone in trouble over every little thing.

Baw how else am I going to prove I do shite at my annual review. Document everything!

While this guy seems like a real arse, and I can't stand the "look at me emails" - maybe he feels pressured since you notice how long his lunches are.

Self Importance, make it appear you are doing your job. Had a guy here would would have a conversation with you then 30 min later email you asking the same questions and cc the boss.

im pretty sure its done so you let their manager know you are requesting them to do work, which will take away time from whatever else their manager is expecting them to do.

This is the reason for CCing managers in my business. It also lets them know all the cards on the table when they set a priority list based on urgency. If something slips in schedule, its usually only my fault if I didnt disclose my work load to my boss.

I usually start CCing their boss if they want to play that shite...but sometimes it's a good thing so boss can see how cray or unreasonable some clients act. Bottom line, my boss knows Im a fricking stud horse and knows some of our clients are complete special needs.

Hell, I CC my own boss in most of my emails. If nothing else, it lets him know I'm working instead of surfing the OT all day.

I only do it when I repeatedly request that somebody does their job and get no response.
