Rant over.

Did you just come out? Wasn't that liberating?

Same. No way I'm going to load up a bunch of shite into boxes if I need to quit on the spot, or if they decide to can me. We've all witnessed that one poor bastard who has shite everywhere in his office and winds up packing up multiple boxes after he's been canned.

Yep. Years ago a coworker was fired and she had hundreds (literally) of pez dispensers displayed, many plants, sculptures, and personal papers everywhere. It took her a solid two workdays AND a manager had sit with her over a weekend to go through everything and pack it all up. Her office was right at the main employee entrance and it was not a amicable parting so it was really awkward for us coworkers walking by and hearing her crying or ranting.

After that I have never had more than a bankers box worth of personal items in my office at any given time.

We have a makeshift mini basketball court, hockey rink, and putting green in our sales office. Banners, 65 in flatscreen (mostly used for final four, masters, Friday afternoon sporting event, etc), and music on at all times. Friday afternoon beers. Our guys and gals love it. And on pace for about 200% growth this year.

EXACTLY! It's a place of business, everyone should be miserable all the time. Any comfort should be seen as a sign of weakness.

Employees work better when they are uncomfortable and miserable.

It's a fact, jack.

It's pretty sad watching some poor chump that just got laid off or fired making multiple trips to the car with all his/her personal garbage. All of your personal stuff can be too much of a window into your life and can create social engineering vulnerabilities. If you work in a medium or big office, no telling who may walk by (vendors, contract workers, interns, visiting sales people, etc.).

Yup. I follow a '1 Box' rule. If it can't all fit into one storage tote then it's too much. And I'm weird about sharing personal information. There's enough curiosity about me being a female in a predominately male industry so I try to limit the things that I can be judged on or asked about other than my work. My office is decorated with the things I've collected from the projects I've been on and books I've used to do my job. All work related. I do enjoy seeing nicely decorated offices, but it's not for me.

A month ago you were asking the board how to deal with high maintenance employees.

Now you're whining about how people chose to decorate their offices. WTH?

Men have terrible decorating taste.

You are probably one of the nerds in the AI art thread that want to print that shite out to frame lol

So you're saying my Xmen #141 print isn't appropriate for an office setting?

You forgot to add 3/4" stucco on your wall section and thickness of slab. Also, don't forget to show vapor barrier under slab.
