Pentecostals in Lousiana

I remember growing up in south Louisiana and we always had a few Pentecostals in my class that would dress weird and would turn their desks around when we would watch a video.
I always wondered why and if thats still as prominent down there? What was the reason behind no make up, long skirts, no TV?

I never understood how the boys seemed somewhat normal, yet the girls all had long hair and wore floor length jean skirts every day.

There are a lot in north Louisiana as well and they always seem to be rude and very self righteous. Maybe I ran into the bad apples, but if they’re all like that they are giving Christians a bad name.

I think the guys also can't have beards.
I have an aunt that is Pentecostal, I always thought it was odd that she didn't have a TV, but her pastor did

Grew up in a nondenominational Pentecostal based church. No one did any of that though. I dont know why UPC's do.

Pentecostal girls are the biggest freaks around. Mormon girls are the only ones even close.

One of our good clients is pentecostal, very wealthy. The women in the family wear modest dresses but they are always the latest designer styles.

Right, because there's nothing wrong with TV, right? I mean, even something as simple as reporting the news is now a complete shitshow! It's basically the same concept as their dress. Live a modest life, free from trendy lifestyles brings more meaning.
