I hear ya but it is more of a concern of other people not knowing WTF they are doing

If other parents having their kids wear helmets triggers you, that makes you a snowflake, right?

Same for my son.

When the kids were first learning they wore helmets. We painted their helmets to their liking so they thought they cool when riding around. Their friends did the same with theirs so we didn’t have to remind them much to put them on.

Yes by the police, we kept a copy of the “ticket” for years until we moved. It was in Spanish Fort, near the Lowe’s/Planet Fitness. Cop made me come and drive the bike (and my son) home. Douche

I do now. My 6 year old son is a good rider. We ride to the levee often. 3 weeks ago we went for a ride and he rode down the levee and wiped out on the gravel at the bottom. Split his head open a little and had to go to the ER. He started the ride with his helmet and didn’t want it so I didn’t make him wear it (he rode all the time w/out one). I’ve never felt like a bigger failure sitting there watching my wife hold a rag against his bleeding head and seeing his helmet sitting on the back of the bike.

Kids are resilient. Let it go. Chalk it up to learning to avoid a bigger problem.

Irresponsible as frick to let your kids ride scooters and bikes without helmets. That said, my kids rarely wear them. I need to get them into that habit, because they’re aggressive kids and their physical stature is about to meet their ambition.
