Transition from 2 kids to 3 kids was the hardest for us. Heard it put this way, "you can no longer play man-to-man, but you have to play zone". Truth! We have 4 total, here is my advice: Do a great job on the 1st 2 and they'll help with the others.

Age is the key. 10, 5, and 3 here. 10yo was a saint. Hence having 5 and 3 yo. Had we had either the 2nd or 3rd one first, there may be no second or third children. Take that however you want to.

Going from 2 to 3 was hardest. You get outnumbered. You have to switch from man-to-man to zone defense.

Exactly.
First one was the easiest up to this point though. She's smart and helpful with the younger.

So true. I thought that having two in diapers at the same time was rough, but it's nothing like having three children trying to wander off at an amusement park or the zoo.

Brain wasn't in comprehension mode.....
Coming of the 3rd was the hardest. Maybe because of the age gap in ours. Hard doing sports and dance all week with a newborn. But that being said having older help was nice at times. The absolute hardest thing comes as they grow older, letting go.

My wife and I are fostering to adopt three beautiful children and we went from just the two of us to a family of 5 in less than 6 months. We wouldn't trade it for the world.
so you have zero experience being a parent of 1 or 2.

I know that when we went from 2 children to 3, it was going to 6 children, the family dynamics seem to triple, much more of challenge to do almost anything. My son just had his 3rd child and I told him it is more than just adding one more - Good Luck to ya

This man/zone coverage analogy is pretty commonplace, it wasn't created today on the OT (just for clarity).
With that being said, it's 100% true. I have three girls - 8,4 & 1. The oldest is becoming a great helper for the youngest, not so much with her "very annoying" 4yr old sister, lol. The hardest transition was from 2 to 3, without a shadow of a doubt, and that is purely because you become spread much more thin between them.

My wife and I had our son in ‘95, our daughter in ‘06 and twin boys in ‘16. Don’t know many people that have had kids this spread apart in 3 different decades. My advice? I’m too frickin tired to give any. Good luck.

2 to 3 - easy
1 to 2 - eh, this isn't much worse
0 to 1 - WHAT ARE WE DOING
3 to 4 - I want to off myself most days

2-3 was the easiest because your life is already in shambles. Can’t get more shamblier.
0-1 was hard because you're like “wtf are we doing”.
1-2 was kinda hard because you are used to just one.
That's comforting to know. We're at 2 now and considering a 3rd one...

Which one was the hardest transition? Easiest? Any advice or tips?
The first transitioned from a girl to a boy that was tougher than the 3rd who transitioned from a boy to a girl

My friend has 5 kids. The first week after his 5th kid was born he had a mental breakdown and cried in his car on his way to work. Yeah. There’s that.
But, on the bright side, he regrets nothing and would readily die for his kids. He’s a good dad.
