I guy I knew, his dad's first family were all killed at home in that crash.

He eventually remarried and started another family. But was insanely protective of his new family which caused a lot of issues.

I was just out of school working at the Baton Rouge General Hospital and thinking Please dont bring a bunch of survivors here. We had the burn unit back then.

Wow. Interestingly, they asked for wind checks. I wonder if they felt something was wrong. I remember that day.

This is not the same flight. Calderera’s flight and Stream’s was Eastern Airlines Flight 66 en route from New Orleans to New York City on June 24, 1975, crashed in New York, JFK airport

“A few of the passengers were from Lake Chuck. Gray Stream, Spook's brother, was one of them. Pete Calderera's wife was another”

That crash made a young Aaron Broussard a household name

And Nash Roberts called the cause minutes after it happened “there is this thing we don’t know too much about… wind shear…”

Made me go down the rabbit hole as I never knew Spook had a brother.

Reportedly the more industrious of the two brothers. KGRA was obtained as the call sign or Nova 104 in memory of his brother Helluva an FM rock station, as good as any in the USA

Last name starts with an M

I went to HS with his sister. 4 children (teenagers) lost their mom & dad on that day. 44 years later, and several lots are still vacant. My grandmother lived on N Sibley (5-6 blocks) from the crash site as I pass by that area whenever I go back home to visit family.

Had a coworker who worked the crash site as a photographer.
He said they gave him 20 or 30 rolls of film to shoot and was assigned a grid of about a 3x3 feet to burn all rolls.
He said it was not a pretty site.

Initials EM, nickname starts with a C.

At one time, the M family lived on Metairie Heights in my neighborhood. I don't think they lived there when the crash happened.

I used to see CM at Free Speech Alley all the time.

I had heard the parents had decided to go to Vegas last minute, which makes it even more tragic, if that's even possible.

This crash was haunted well before it took off. I had a near death experience the week before it happened and when I heard the crash from school as a 7 y/o, the timing didn't seem random, especially since the question I was being asked was an almost impossible question to answer

It's been 44 years since then and I've been able to obtain a wealth of information from public sources and specifically social media (forums like this, Facebook, reddit, etc.) for the lesser known details.

I've come to the conclusion this was more than an accident and was planned since at least Summer of 1980, when I actually flew in a plane for the first time from MSY as a 5 y/o on what was a very strange trip.

Below are some of the more "notable" passengers you may not be aware of:

Josef Frank was awarded the Order of Merit in 1982 (Germany's highest civilian honor)
LINK

William Dara was an FBI informant and Bonnano family made member
LINK

Bob Becker was an award winning photographer

Does this woman have survivor's guilt or is she crazy?
