I've come to the conclusion this was more than an accident and was planned since at least Summer of 1980, when I actually flew in a plane for the first time from MSY as a 5 y/o on what was a very strange trip.

My young secretary at the time had 7 family members on the flight, Fitzgerald family, from the Addis-Brusly area on the flight. Parents, grandmother, aunts & uncles - all were flying to Las Vegas to attend another relative’s funeral.

At one time, the M family lived on Metairie Heights in my neighborhood. I don't think they lived there when the crash happened. I used to see CM at Free Speech Alley all the time.

If you really want in, then let's look no further than Baton Rouge's finest, Miss Kaylee Hartung.

Her father's story always troubled me and how she relentlessly mentions it in every interview. It's as if she knew something was wrong so I did some more research after thinking about HOW this operation could have been planned and who was needed.

And it turns out, her father, Joe Hartung patented tree trimming equipment, something he would have known was an issue if he was the "stunt" pilot for testing out different payload configurations on a fully loaded 727. He was also in the same region the operation would take place to test, since a fully loaded 727 only had 1 runway it could use for takeoff.

And as far as my incident, two kids basically hung me upside down in an arcade at a local country club demanding to know where my dad was and when I told them I didn't know, hadn't seen him since I was 5, they dropped me on my head. Mother said she didn't believe me then a week after the crash she told me she believed what I told her and we never discussed it again.

The next time I flew on a plane was 15 in 1990 and it was really odd she balled her eyes out in tears as she asked for a hug because she was never affectionate with me.

"I woke up this morning and said no way you're gonna get me on that plane," Fitzgerald said late Friday. "I had a ticket and it had my name on it until this afternoon, and then my brother said he'd go instead. I just had a feeling."

I read that thread a year or two ago. He definitely had a first hand account of the crash. He must have been pretty young when he became an airline pilot. I don’t recall if he said was left or right seat that day though.
