Holy shite this is awesome. I just sent that to my friend who's a TU Grad. He's a diehard UT fan but also a big LSU fan(I introduced him to LSU Sports in 1999). And he reads this site often.

When you register a trademark you choose the industries that you will be providing services.
The same trademark can be used by different companies as long as they are in different (non-competing) industries.
