Want to know when I knew for certain that "contact tracing" at this point is useless?

It was when I saw a tweet from a local health department soliciting random people to apply to be "contact tracers". It is an effort by state and local governments to spend the piles of federal money they are getting.

Actual contact tracing would have been useful early on in the process. Now, with community spread and a growing number of asymptomatic people, it is pointless. And nevermind the fact that it seems to be reliant upon the expertise of Walmart door greeter types.

All this.

Because they are tired of dumbasses. It is their prerogative, as they own the business. Run it how they please, and call out the stuff they view as bullshite. I imagine that is one of the beauties most people want to own their own business for.

I loved their pizza when I lived there. Best pizza in the quarter. Once drove there from Bham to eat dinner.

I can't believe contact tracing is actually the law in NOLA. It isn't even effective at this point.

It’s quite dystopian.

The Scamdemic people have zero regard for these situations

I also have zero regard for a business owner that post something on social media that is going to piss off consumers. Not only is his/her post stupid from a business standpoint, but it’s immature. I’ll bet he/she. Complains about Trumps twitter use and name calling. But he/she had no problem doing it.

frick em. If they close, they close. I have zero sympathy for people who make a bad situation worse for themselves.

Why would they need your name and number to order food?

I'm not a Rona hoaxer, Anti hoaxer, anti face masker, but this is silly. I wouldn't give it either.

Been out to eat several times in past 2 weeks and not once been asked for anything but my drink order and what we would like for main course.

What a shitty way of service

Contact Tracing AFTER the virus is this widespread is a futile exercise. The time for contact tracing is at the very early initial stage of an outbreak-and then it's a very useful tool. Now , it's virtually pointless from an actual virus-cessation standpoint.

You’re 100% correct, even the CDC stated earlier this week that with the prevalent number of asymptotic cases that contact tracing is an exercise in futility. Unless they were paying cash couldn’t they just contact the customer’s bank or financial institution for that information...oh that’s right that’s against the law for a reason. The old adage the customer is always right is there for a reason!

The owners are good people. The food is good. The customer shouldn’t have been an arse clown. It’s not their fault that they need that information. They’re doing what they can to keep making money. If you don’t like it, stay home

They don't need that information. It's actually none of their fricking business.

Well that response should certainly earn them some new customers

I don’t understand restauranteurs these days committing public seppuku

Are you kidding me?

That probably earned them thousands of new stereotypical NOLA angry, white, fart sniffing progressives

There are a lot of pricks in this world and as an owner of a restaurant, that comes with the territory....
So now we're living in a world where if you don't want to give your name so you can be traced, you're a "prick"?

I love the "whatever it takes" line. You think they really mean it? They are truly committed to doing "whatever it takes"??? why arent they voluntarily closed??
