I’m sure they do but that doesn’t mean they are going to donate. Have you ever seen black folks tip? Generosity with their own money isn’t really a thing for most black folk
I said I am sure Southern has some well off donors because I know a guy.. an older guy who is a huge Southern guy. He graduated from Southern, he used to be the treasurer of.. whatever their booster club equivalence is. He donates, but I would describe him as upper middle class. That's probably the majority of their donors. With a hand full.. if that... who are beyond middle class.
In fact, this guy I am talking about. He used to go to every Southern game (home and away). For the home games he had a huge tailgate where he cooked, etc. He is now in his 70s and for the past 5 or 6 years haven't gone to many games at all. He isn't a fan of how the younger generation behaves. It was getting to him for several years before he decided to stop being so generous (as in he used to feed a lot of people at his tailgates, after doing for over 30 years people were starting to take advantage of his generosity).

I am not aware that Southern is a part of the LSU system… Why would a school president working for LSU be participating in this paper?

In the New Orleans area alone: UNO, SUNO, Holy Cross, Dillard, Xavier, and, to a lesser extent, Delgado.
Holy Cross, Dillard, and Xavier are all private.

He sucked from day 1 and is lobbing grenades on the way out.

Have you ever been to southern campus It overlooks the river and is beautiful
The area overlooking the river is but not the actual campus. The state bought Scott's Bluff and rest of land from white people to move Southern from New Orleans and have a bigger campus (not sure if state forced sell or if a good deal for previous owners). They then bought them even more land for the Ag part. I think some considered it one of the prettier areas around Baton Rouge at the time. I think only 1 black family lived in area at the time, so it wasn’t traditionally a black area. They tried to give Southern a chance with a large campus in a pretty area.
Area kind of sucks now. Many Southern students live in apartments built for LSU students. Southern would be even worse than it is if not for white students unable to get into LSU law school.

In 1912 the state of Louisiana bought 531 acres in Scotlandville for the construction of the relocated Southern University and A&M College, a historically black college and land grant college. The state legislature wanted it moved from New Orleans to an area with more land. The state later acquired another 372 acres to support the agricultural portion of its curriculum. Southern University was built on Scott's Bluff overlooking the Mississippi River.

It's a nice thought but their own alumni do not donate. It is a problem across all HBCUs
They don’t tip either
