Maybe they need to look into how Ben Franklin in New Orleans continues to be ranked near the top nationally but has managed to diversify. I'm not sure how they did it but the school is way more diverse than it was in the 70s and 80s.

Katrina is what caused Franklin to diversify.
Before that the same accusations were thrown around.

Dropping the requirements only serves to make these schools like any other schools, therefore any benefit you get now from graduating there would no longer exist.
Asians value education heavily and a 2 parent household that pushes them to be successful.
The black students who got accepted did it the right way. They should be commended and used as an example of how to achieve. Many blacks think the system is rigged against them but reality is most of them are against the system themselves and refuse to culturally adapt and change in order to do what it takes to succeed in the systems we have.

Probably not. But another thing to consider that so many blacks do not is names chosen for kids. Say there is a racist handling applications. He will know “Laquisha johnson” isn’t an Anglo Saxon applying to school. It shouldn’t matter, but reality is that it does. The name Ashley Johnson however, with no race on the application, leads the person handling it to be void of any discrimination.

it's an answer everyone knows, no one will say in public, and no one truly wants the definitive answer too. If it were answered then it circle backs to what everyone knows, which is unspeakable, and not easily repairable.

It would obviously be the ones with the darker skin. Or any on free lunch. Or those whose parents cannot contribute big bucks to the discretionary slush fund.
Seriously though, when they say Asians are 74%, how many of those are Oriental, and how many are Indian or Israeli? You know there are some Patels in there.

Franklin's diversity, in comparison, reflects the relatively small Asian population in New Orleans and the admissions standards are much lower than these NYC schools. NYC just uses the test score. Franklin uses a matrix combining grades and the test score, such that students from lower performing middle schools with high grades can still gain admission to Franklin even with a low test score.

This is bullshite. Doesn’t matter if they qualify, or if it’s deserving. African American people of color need to be represented at minimum 28%
