The unusual initiative would see money be given directly to local community leaders in neighborhoods plagued by shootings. The leaders can then fund their own 'innovative solutions' to help stop gun crime.

Such solutions could include the 'expansion of evidence-based therapeutic supportive programs' including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) for at-risk youths.

If I was a crooked politician, that sounds exactly some bullshite I’d come up with the funnel money to my friends right before I left office and then the country. But alas, I’m not a crooked politician.

(That proposal is so stupid, I’m not sure that I could come up with a more wasteful and useless proposition if I tried.)

I’d bet a large sum that those involved in this incident stay or hangout in Valley Park

I'll never forgive Rolfe for that.

He didn’t support her the second time, but yes he was fooled the first time.

I agree. Valley Park has always been a bit subdued with a lot of working class people living in there.

I hate the Orange Wax there because it reminds me of someone and its clear the shooter had the same thoughts in his head.

There is literally a hood right behind it.

That’s said, most of the local criminal element stayed in their neighborhood. Now they are simply just expanding their activities to all areas with no real fear of a police force whom their OWN MAYOR and Chief vilify.

Every southern city dies the same slow death. BR is entering the final stages. The only hope to save the Parish is if St. George comes to fruition.

This is what happens when you offer free shite like vacuums and air. The filth and trash come out of Valley Park.

The citizens of BR have no clue how dangerous the city is and how bad off BRPD is. The department is significantly worse now that when I left 2 months ago.

All of those homicides in broad daylight on public streets (triple homicide last week on College) are beginning to shine a light that the mayor and chief can’t hide. This summer will be interesting

ETA: it’s not like the mayor and chief actually care about any of this. Their words say they care but their actions, or lack there of, give an entirely different message.

This will be another record year. Hell they’re 2 months ahead of last year which was a record year.
