Just talked to a long time farmer. No one is ordering and will have lots of crawfish. He said this will be the cheapest of my lifetime

kinda on this topic....is anyone else seeing tons of places around them selling boiled crawfish right now? I've never seen it in the dead of winter in years past, but it's been popping up like crazy it seems

Yea, that's what farmers say every year. No one is ordering, prices are so low that they are losing money, or fields aren't producing. Crawfish farmers like to complain.

Obviously you don't know the crawfish industry.

It seems to start earlier every year. There are people out there who are willing to pay ridiculous prices. A place near me north of Houston has had them for $9.99 a lb for a month or so.

Pretty ridiculous that people are buying baby crawfish for $10/lb right now. This is a farmer's dream.

If people would be patient and start buyibg in February, crawfish would be cheaper and bigger.

Polar express incoming, prices quadruple overnight. It’s December ain’t nobody buying bugs right now. Your farmer need to lay off da sauce till February.

Not everywhere. We went to Jane's in New Iberia Saturday night. We didn't eat crawfish but they were selling them between $7-9 a pound depending on how much you got.
