Don't you guys constantly bitch that they don't build more bridges and your roads are terrible?

Yes. Which is why any measures to actively make it worse are obviously stupid.

Some people get an Earned Income Tax Credit. That money can be used to purchase anything and in most cases those items are taxed. So why not tax government benefits especially if it is freebies like Food Stamps and EBT. Also, in Louisiana, it helps the local governments since they collect sales taxes on Food purchases unlike the state unless Louisiana reverses the Stelly plan taxes.

But why did we need a spending bill for infrastructure that we’ve already been paying taxes for?

The govt has managed to tax us on just breathing and living in our homes and even dying!

All for what? We cant even get gas safely at night without being victim to crime!

I guess it wasn't enough? I do know that our infrastructure has been neglected for decades so I guess they had to do something to try to catch up.

We talk about transparency but we really don't want that. Looks like there are hundreds of pages of details on that link I posted showing all the various projects and their progress, but who wants to read that shite, nobody.

We just want politicians that we can trust to be competent and honest so we aren't tasked with looking over their shoulder all the time, because let's be honest, we suck at that.

If someone is a conservative they should be in support of raising the gas tax to cover all road expenditures.
ha. In Louisiana, that gas tax is 1 part new roads , 9 parts “let’s shore up the retirement system”

In Louisiana Im not sure the gas tax even covers half of road infrastructure expenditures.

Just give us a Baton Rouge loop, for the love of god. Pass whatever tax it takes and put a toll on it too.

Not even close The gas tax hasn’t been raised in 40 years and isn’t adjusted for inflation.

There’s several northern states exploring road usage charges in lieu of a gas tax. Will be interesting to see if it makes its way down south.

The problem is that the tax dollars we’ve been paying have not been used for their supposed purposes. Our government has chosen to finance their own pet projects and buy votes via entitlement programs. We are paying more and more every year and discovering more and more fraud every year. That infrastructure bill was not money we had in savings, it was just printed out. Meaning all of our dollars that we had in savings and earn with our work was worth less and less.

Wisconsin will receive $11.7 billion from the bipartisan infrastructure law. Some of that money will add and improve stormwater infrastructure

Some of that money?

That’s a helluva progress report . At least they are honest

Louisiana's gas tax is 20 cents per gallon. It wouldn't help the average driver much at all if it was suspended. What it will effect is the state's ability to put up matching funds for the federal funds we rely on for road and bridge projects.

Who made you the authority over whether .20 per gal tax suspension would help the average Louisiana driver.
Road and bridge repair in Louisiana, that’s a joke right …
You must be some govt asshat
