IIRC, the first Corona cluster in NYC was easily traced to a major Hasidic funeral of a greatly esteemed Rabbi, and the entire male congregation turned out in a crowded mass.
Several weeks later there was a second similarly densely packed funeral of another Rabbi.
Both happened after the need for precautions were established but these were avoided by those communities. And they were major clusters of diseases.
Clusters of another four letter word as well.

Why did he issue this warning specifically to the Jewish people? Was there a reason this was directed towards only the Jewish people? Were they possibly still going to their synagogues and having large gatherings?

Comments aside, de Blasio if probably the most hated mayor from all sides over the past 40 years. He married a black woman and has adopted the “woke” culture. Ed Koch, Giuliani, and Bloomberg have to hate that guy for what NYC has become.
