Who has the cliffs? Im seeing talk of mental evals and embezzling money from her work to buy snacks?

The snacks were for the baby, so her employer is not pressing charges because she was trying to do a good for her community.

Popcorn? Why popcorn when you can eat Cheez-its?

The parents are just repeating what she told them in general. The police haven't even ruled this as a hoax yet. Even if they say they can find no evidence of the mystery toddler, an abduction etc..., the parents are entitled to believe their daughter. It may be that since more has come out that they now have their doubts. They should, but their initial responses were based on their daughter's story and the story told by the brother's gf/wife.

I can agree with this to some extent. We don’t know what detail has been shared with them by the police. Given the circumstances probably not much. So as of yesterday morning, all they know for sure is their daughter went missing and showed up Saturday.

While the video was enough to cast some doubt on her story, it’s not like it was conclusive. I can see how they were still standing by her as of yesterday.

But, now that there’s evidence that the daughter planned this by buying food that wasn’t in her car when she “disappeared” and police have confirmed it publicly…the parents have to be doubting her.

It will be interesting to see how they act now.

Their whole world is crashing down on them if they believed their daughter, came out supporting her, and are now learning details that show she planned this.

They have a choice now. Double down and go down with the sinking ship. Or face the reality of what their daughter did and take the high road.

I imagine it will be something in between. They don’t continue to double down. But, they don’t come out and admit they were wrong. I would expect complete silence from here forward.

The baby was found with 2 buckets of original recipe.

If you ever find yourself wondering how anyone could be stupid enough to invent such an implausible story, just remember that their doddering old Yankee King still shuffles across the Edmund Pettus Bridge annually as if "white supremacy" were still relevant to anything or anyone.

That senile old fool has done more to hurt the black race than David Duke ever managed.

After leaving The Colonnade, Carlee went to Target on Highway 280 and purchased some snack food type items. These items were not located in the vehicle or with her cell phone and wig at the scene of her disappearance.

I noticed the last sentence they never said “alleged kidnapping”, they said “disappearance”. Seems important.

While waiting for foorball season its been a fun summer with everything going on to occupy time:

- Broke all time jello shot record, shattered it

- Spent a few weeks or more learning about subs and implosions

- Learning how important Chees-Its are to keep from starving during kidnappings

I’ve followed this whole thread and I swear, if I ever decide to commit a crime I’m going to test run it here first to vette out any holes in my plan. I wonder how many police or detectives come here to read on cases and learn things to do or consider. Pretty amazing how much insight one can get here. Its like a massive detective agency where no one gets paid. I love a good mystery and this case has been awesome.

Yes, what they "knew" before and what they are finding out now are not in sync. Their reaction, if any, to the new information and whatever comes out in the presser will be interesting. I really believe they've lawyered up at this point. I would be surprised if they have not at the very least been approached by lawyers.

Even as a parent concerned about my child, I'd be asking Carlee questions now.

I'm unclear whether the food from the restaurant was found in the car. It wasn't mentioned in what they found, so I'm assuming it was missing also. Probably eaten by the abductors along with the snacks from Target.

She took the snacks into the woods after she was lured in by freak show sirens chanting “the toddler needs you in here, bring snacks.” That explains why the snacks were removed from the car. Then the freak show woodland sirens fed her the Cheezits to help her enjoy the bizarre 2 day tour around greater Birmingham in an 18 wheeler. They wanted her to join their merry group of free spirited travelers but she wasn’t interested after experiencing their lifestyle so they dropped her off at the her parents neighborhood and bid her a fond farewell.

That’s my theory.

Sounds plausible. Generally speaking, forest folk are known to be friendly and accepting.

Good sir you are doing yourself a disservice by not reading this entire thing. Do what I did and neglect work for a couple hours to catch up. You won't regret it. It is hump day anyways.

There are some things missing that are periperal to this whole kerfuffle:

comments from her fellow nursing students and teachers

comments from her fellow workers and clients at the spa

Comments on the picture with the boyfriend with three names specifically the picture of them on a boat with a significant smooth hill in the background and white sunbaked houses along the water front and none of the houses more than two stories high: a Mediterranean vacation perhaps?

more comments from the stripper with the child to support

You're like the person that reads "right lane closed in one mile" and then proceeds to drive until the cones stop you and then expect someone to let you in line. Maybe someone will let you in.

Feels like everyone in Bham is scheduling their day around this. Had a friend joke that Hoover PD should’ve moved this to the Wynfrey and had their own media days there since the SEC is in Nashville this year.
