aww man. i hate those people.

i usually edge my truck out half way into the lane and block them at a certain obvious point where they’ve had plenty of time to figure things out.

It's actually recommended for all lanes to be filled with cars and merge near the end. It creates less of a traffic jam.

Correct.

Anyone who doesn’t know how to properly zipper merge needs their license revoked.

Funny how things that are supposed to work in theory don't in the real world. That ONLY works when people are willing to let people merge.

From now on I’m pulling a Carlee when stuck in traffic. Get into the emergency lane and drive slow until I can merge in. If I get stopped, I’ll just say I’m looking for a toddler.

kidnappings

I’ve followed this whole thread and I swear, if I ever decide to commit a crime I’m going to test run it here first to vette out any holes in my plan. I wonder how many police or detectives come here to read on cases and learn things to do or consider. Pretty amazing how much insight one can get here. Its like a massive detective agency where no one gets paid. I love a good mystery and this case has been awesome.

I see from your join date you weren’t here when the OT actually solved a murder and found a missing person in California. We’ve also had a judge disbarred for sharing a celebrity’s adoption info.

There are some things missing that are periperal to this whole kerfuffle:

comments from her fellow nursing students and teachers

comments from her fellow workers and clients at the spa

Comments on the picture with the boyfriend with three names specifically the picture of them on a boat with a significant smooth hill in the background and white sunbaked houses along the water front and none of the houses more than two stories high: a Mediterranean vacation perhaps?

more comments from the stripper with the child to support
I'll add one to the list:

Since she reportedly went missing while on phone (scream call) with sister in law at mile marker 11.4 or thereabouts AND this was on video with her rummaging in back seat... why has no one in position of authority (PD, Media) pointed out that what happened (walk though woods, adducted, teleported out, etc.) in those crucial seconds is also on video.

This was proven to be a hoax or abduction within seconds of that video being retrieved from storage which was posted here within one hour of being retrieved.

Again, she was on phone, screamed, "abducted" all within seconds (at the most 6.5 minutes- response time by LE) of the 911 call. What really happened was readily available on video. Within minutes of the incident.

Obviously, LE is letting her or her accomplices hang themselves and that's why there was no Ashanti Alert. But it is such an obvious thing for everybody but LE to point out yet none did.

I bet this press conference isn’t gonna be what we think or want it to be. Gonna be more of “we are still investigating and giving Carlee time to get better. “

If that's wall it was wtf would they announce a press conference date and time just to say something generic they've already said?

They already announced earlier thsi morning a handful of stuff they hadn't publicly released yet. I imagine they're going to reveal a lot more this afternoon.

The OT is expecting to see the Hoover police chief dragging her in front of the cameras in handcuffs and a prison jumpsuit while screaming "You like that!, You like that!" Kirk Cousins style.

I’m just trying to be realistic. As much as I want them to call her out as a liar, I have a feeling they won’t. I hope I’m wrong tho.

The most likely scenario is that they provide a timeline of her whereabouts up until she pulled over. Tell the public that there has been evidence found of a toddler walking along the interstate or evidence that an abduction occurred in the area. They will also let us know that Carlee arrived at home on foot, police were notified of her being unresponsive, but that when they arrived she was in good health and was brought to UAB to be evaluated as a precaution and was released shortly after.

They'll let us know that they have video surveillance of her movements after being kidnapped but are working to piece together the remaining moments that they cannot yet verify and speak to Carlee before releasing any additional information on the investigation.

The gneeral public (not talking about you specifically) is really dumb wtih no attention span. I know that we want it spelled out point blank black and white, but I agree they aren't going to say "everythign this woman said is bullshite."

Much like their first public announcements Saturday regarding the baby on the road, all it takes is a smidgen of reading between the lines to know what's up. I suspect they are going to lay out a LOT of information on her exact movements during this time period. And with all of that specific, factual informaiotn, it will be obvious that there was no abduction and pretty much everythnign she said was wrong. They are essentially going to call out the whole family without SPECIFICALLY caling them out.

And I mean, they aren't the jerry springer show. There's no need for htem to get into the entertainment spectacle arena by being more direct than needed.

Yep.
And there has been many great threads on people here rallying to help people out when needed.
And for natural disasters in the south, this is like information central. Lots of good information and help abounds. Flood of 2016 is a great example as well as many hurricanes.

At the behest of being called a "racist police department" by the "race baiters", I think you are correct. People don't care as much about the law as they do the feelings of the perpetrator. Just like the Nashville PD never releasing the manifesto of the mass school shooter because it might hurt somebody's feelings.

I hope Hoover PD does better but I'm not counting on it.
