Data like this, in my view, fits right in with other data showing the region truly in the driver’s seat as a region of strength.

1) South Carolina having the fastest growing economy of any state for like 9 straight years
2) Mississippi education miracle
3) Tennessee seeing some of the highest in-migration rates of any state.
4) growth of Atlanta
5) Florida continuing to be a magnet for wealthy northerners moving south

Decisions by northern and west coast states to put ideology and scolding ahead of things that work represents a golden opportunity for the south to take advantage.

Not a new phenomenon. Atlanta has been growing for decades.

Saw an interview with some expert on college admissions, and he said it all started with Tik Tok and Covid lockdowns. Teenagers in the Northeast and Midwest were locked in their rooms watching on their phones all the fun the students in the South were having.

I know we think so, but in their minds, is Louisiana and east Texas their idea of the south?

It is. And I never want to live there again. But I’m currently in the 70808 and it’s a beautiful day despite it being August. It’s hard to shite on my hometown on a nice day like today.

Also, I have a rule with people up north. I can talk shite about Louisiana, but if you say a bad word you can shut your whore mouth.

Didn’t think it could grow much more from where it was 15 years ago when I was in school. Everyone was from New York and New Jersey

Nothing to worry about here. An influx of northerners has never negatively impacted the south.

Re this rule: I’m from “the north.”

I also lived in Louisiana for 12 years and paid taxes there.

I’ll talk shite about Louisiana directly to your face. And you won’t do fk-all about it.

Now whether or not I possess a harlot’s maw, that’s a whole other matter of conjecture.

I’m skeptical of these “miracles” reliant on sketchy testing

My cousin is one of those people. Born and raised north of Pittsburgh (loved SEC football), moved to Raleigh to attend NC State, found and married a southern girl, and has never left.
