This is just paving the way for the excuse to lock down sooner and more authoritatively in the not too distant future. You can be sure of that.
INSTEAD, what people should be working on are preventative measures to things like this in the future that doesn’t involve shutting the country down in the process, like providing masks, and hand sanitizer to people, and formulating protocols for social distancing In public while still living life and doing business. This country can ill afford trillions of dollars in debt every time a new pandemic comes on the scene, yes, even America cannot afford that.

It's cool. It won't be an issue come November 3rd if Trump loses.

If I had bet on a parlay of LSU going 15-0 and Joe Burrow winning three Heisman, I would have made millions.

- Trump: Ok, I've instructed governors to go ahead and shut everything down
- Democrats: You're the worst president every for ruining the economy! We knew you were an inept piece of shite who doesn't care about the common man.
I've had many similar conversations with my girlfriend where she plays the role of the Democrats and I'm Trump.

And if my aunt had testicles, she'd be my uncle.

Are these the same models that said millions would already be dead? Or the models that said FL and GA would be stacking bodies 3 weeks after opening?

Now the lockdown was too late
well yeah...if we were ever going to do this right, you lockdown before we ever get a single case
of course, no one had the balls (and rightfully so) to do that, so its a mute point
*moot point- I'm retarded

If the United States had begun imposing social distancing measures one week earlier than it did in March, about 36,000 fewer people would have died in the coronavirus outbreak, according to new estimates from Columbia University disease modelers.
States determine when to shutdown. 9 of the top 10 States by deaths/1M population are Dem ran (4 is GOP). So wouldn't this point to the failure of the Democratic party's leadership?

Let's be honest, there was nothing Trump, or any Republican governor for that matter, could've done that would've been worthy of praise. Hell, they called him racist for shutting down travel from China then flipped out because he didn't do enough to stop the spread.

I may be missing something here, but if this "modeling" was correct wouldn't we have almost zero deaths and new cases right now - since we've been locked down and social distancing for months?
If locking down 2 weeks earlier would've prevented 83% of the deaths that occurred, their model assumes that these measures basically halt the spread right?
Math and statistics aren't my strong suit, but this doesn't seem accurate. One would assume that a two week span making an astronomical 83% difference would mean that a months-long lockdown would make more of an impact than it has. It just seems off balance.
