with that kind of work ethic and intelligence, he is going to move to houston eventually. just tell him to go to rice and get it over with sooner than later.

why does everyone think everything is for free, tell your snotty, entitled arse Jaxyn to get off his lazy arse and start applying for grants and scholarships, already missed out on a boatload because they were only available to hs jumiors

The state pays for every kid with a 20 on the ACT to go to college, and neglects its high performers while complaining that the workforce isn't educated. It's not that we think it should he free just because, it's that there is a gross and obvious misuse of resources. All why the people that get to appropriate them complain about shite that would be fixed.

Pretty simple thinking by you.

I’m not kidding

Everybody always talks about how football has increased enrollment at Bama, but they have some big initiatives to get out of state kids with high scores.

No, instead of thinking about it, you just made an a-hole comment essentially equaling "millennials just want everything for free!!!!" That's not accurate and the OP has a legit gripe. We can't retain our top students because the nanny state would rather try to send every kid that can write his name to college instead of giving merit based Schollys like every competitive school in the coutntry does.

Seems like his kid is a pretty high achieving student. Did you even read the OP or were you just trying to make a witty comment that isn't funny?

Right, this is absurd. The minimum should be 25, and it shouldn't be contingent upon other factors (income, race, etc...), like has always been mentioned when there is talk about increasing the scores.

Wow! Usually Louisiana highschool students go to LSU for a degree paid by TOPS then immediately move to TX for work and start a family.

You’re right. I’ve harped on this for a long time. Because the kicker is, LSU is offering much better scholarships to out of state students. Out of state scholars similar to your kid would get a full ride (on out of state tuition) plus a stipend. I had several friends on it. Bama and Georgia and others would offer the same things to LA kids, but not their own

yeah, my niece is going to alabama as they are giving her so much $$. Both her parents, 3 of 4 grandparents, 3 of 4 aunts/uncles, all went to LSU but she is going to bama.

This is the same thing LSU did for me. I graduated with great grades / high scores on SAT. I got a few thousand from UT / Georgia Tech - LSU gave me like $15k a year.

LSU has only offered about $3500/year in non-TOPS scholarship $$$
doesn't TOPS cover all of the tuition, plus an extra $800 stipend? did for me, add that to and extra $3500 and that's pretty attractive IMO.

So he gets tuition paid by TOPS and then $3,500/year on top of that and you're bitching about it?!?

Or is your real point to start a thread bragging about your kid?
