They need to hurry up. My brake tag has been expired for 2 years, and I don't want to get pulled over.

The sticker is mailed when vehicle registration is renewed.
If you don't have insurance, you can't renew your vehicle registration.
This may have a chance of reducing the number of uninsured drivers.

the State of Texas transitioned to a "Two Steps, One Sticker" vehicle inspection and registration program. Your registration sticker serves as combined proof of registration and inspection

No, you generally cannot register your vehicle or renew your tags in Arkansas without proof of insurance. Arkansas law requires, and indicates, that you must maintain liability insurance on your vehicle to register it. A computer system verifies this instantly

$6 annually, or one time? I’m sure it’s annually, but it’s certainly stupid if that’s the case. As mentioned, the information is already on our registration and insurance. This bullshite could also be on LA Wallet and be done with it.

The kinds of people who drive around uninsured in unregistered vehicles don't care.
And very few cops pull people over just for an expired registration.
As usual, registration/insurance/brake tags are just a tax on responsible people.

That's my question. I'm guessing you get a new sticker whenever you renew your registration.

These will be much quicker for the police to scan at check points.
They'll probably make more money now.
Yes, checkpoints gonna sprout up everywhere like fricking nutgrass.

So we still have to pay but our cars don't have to pass an inspection?

And so, the March towards authoritarian rule progresses. I’ll bet Landry can’t wait to hear the pointers Trump learned in China…

I ain't clicking anything. We have to go somewhere and get this QR code sticker? Or are they going to be smart about it and add $6 to my registration and mail it to me? Can I just bring my paperwork to a station and get a sticker?

It looks like in EBR you still have to get an emissions test, so i don't really see how this creates much of a convenience.
Same thing in Texas, if you live in the most populous counties in TX, you still have to test. Buy, I could move a mile northwest and be in a different county, no requirement for testing.
