State government as well as BR are bigger lost causes than LSU, NOLA., Shreveport or any other metro in the state. Utterly hopeless when it comes to leadership. And as BR government goes, so goes BRPD. Utterly feckless. Although BRPD may not be as corrupt and compromised as the politicians.

Even if you raise standards for entrance into the university, you will not be able to remove the cultural rot that is encroaching on the campus.
The guvnor best deploy the national guard for gameday this year. A potential embarrassment is bad enough when its just the locals. Imagine such an event being televised nationally.

How in Tarnation did someone get a license for a Hookah Bar in that area?

That hookah bar is going to brew an insane amount of ghetto violence, and it is going to fester until gunfire will erupt out of nowhere and multiple people will be killed, and hopefully the Murphy's crowd will be ok. These people don't care that there is a BRPD substation less than a mile away on Highland road. BRPD needs officers patrolling that ghetto establishment in full force.

Because that does not cost any money.

The police presence will be 10 different groups of 5 or 6 uniformed cops standing around bullshitting with each other in the free parking lots out by the levee.

Truer words have never been spoken. BRPD especially can't even be bother with traffic control at those spots, let alone security. Traffic backing up to a crawl on River Road. Who cares? Not our problem.

They are advertising another round of this on Friday night 8/21.

If I’m BRPD I am finding whatever technicality it is to shut this down and kill it with the quickness.

They will continue to do this every week until it’s stopped.

Back in the 1990's, my car window was broken and radio stolen at the Bengal which was directly across the street from that police station. Another person's car was stolen. I walked to the police station and got "we didn't see nothing" even though there were cop cars coming and going all night.

That area has always been bad. Social media has raised awareness.

none of the ghetto bullshite going on near LSU has anything to do with LSUs admissions standards. The fact that this culture exists at all, clearly does not give a frick about civilized society, and populates the area within walking distance of the north gate is the problem.

LSU could admit only valedictorians and this problem would be the same. It’s a Baton Rouge problem not an LSU problem. The only answer is complete exclusion for everyone. No activities or gatherings at all

At least this one is off campus.

PWI = Predominately White Institution

quote:

An HBCU (Historically Black College or University) was founded before 1964 to serve the Black community, offering a culturally affirming environment and strong support. A PWI (Predominantly White Institution) has a student body that is more than 50% white, often featuring larger research endowments and broader resource pools

Governor Jeff needs to get a handle on this with quickness.

Do this for the first home game and you may not have to do it again.

Enforce a buffer zone starting on the Thursday evening before the game at West McKinley Street utilizing the State Police and the National Guard.

Anyone without a student/faculty ID, legal business, game ticket holder, or legal address of that area is not to be admitted south of West McKinley until 8AM Sunday.

Have checkpoints at River Rd., Nicholson, Alaska, Highland, Thomas Delpit, and Dalrymple. Make it very difficult to get in and this foolishness will end.

upon further review, that one appears to be a legitimate alumni event. its in the lot across from mathernes. and if its a private ticketed event it will be fine

This right here! Although it is both their problems due to the fact that LSU sits next to the hood, and it would serve both LSU and BR well to get it under control.

the will to disrupt en masse fueled by social media. I grew up in BR thru the 70s and 80s and owned a business there for 20 years. The intent to disrupt is a new phenomenon
