Around the world, governments are increasingly advising their citizens to have provisions in the case of an emergency such as war, extreme weather and cybersecurity threats.
Different countries advise different levels of preparedness. Having emergency supplies for a three-day period is commonly advised. France and the U.K. recently advised people to have supplies for a period of 72 hours ready.
“Don't wait for the emergency: prepare now!” a government account for the French region of Normandy said in a social media statement on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, British Prime Minister Andy Burnham said during an interview on BBC Radio: “I do like my beans, so I have plenty of those in the cupboard, and soup. I think those are the kind of things that I would recommend people to have.”
Canada, Japan, Mexico and the Netherlands also advise an emergency kit for a 72-hour period. Other countries suggest a longer preparedness period, with Sweden and Norway advising having supplies for about one week, and Germany advising supplies for up to 10 days.

Seriously, what will 72 hours of provisions do in the event of a global catastrophe that disrupts supply chains and commerce so bad that the system breaks down?

Give the ultra rich time to get to their bunkers before what’s left kills one another when’s there’s no resources left.

Even better, I have a map with all of the known peppers inside a 50 mile radius.

I’m just waiting until I see the run on toilet paper at Costco and Sam’s to begin. Then I ‘ll know for sure.

He put hard times on Dusty Rhodes and his family. You don't know what hard times are, daddy! Hard times are when the textile workers around this country are out of work and got four, five kids, and can't pay their wages, can't buy their food. Hard times are when the auto workers are out of work and they tell them 'Go home!'. And hard times are when a man has worked at a job thirty years -- thirty years! -- they give him a watch, kick him in the butt and say 'Hey, a computer took your place, daddy!'. That's hard times! That's hard times.

The tin foil hatter in me wonders if the relaxing of the NFA by this admin doesn’t have some coincidence with the global frickery being forewarned? But three days is child’s play. I always keep several months worth of food on hand.

I've already printed screenshots of my entire instagram view history for future hard times.

It always makes me chuckle and shake my head at how many people will rush to follow things like this just because it was said in the news.
Just like when all the toilet paper was bought.
If the government wanted 3/4s of Baton Rouge to show up at some random spot, all they would have to do is have something in the media about how it’s for safety and people would blindly show up

This is a conspiracy by big food cooperations in conjunction with governments to boost sales.

Shadow oligarchy pulls on 5 or 6 levers periodically
To make us pismires oscillate wildly
That’s how they keep us governed
Those faceless MFs
