WASHINGTON — Dr. Anthony Fauci privately raised concerns that the COVID-19 vaccine could “theoretically” be linked to miscarriages in expectant mothers, despite having publicly insisted there were “no red flags” for pregnant women.

“I asked around a bit more and another issue came up that you need to be aware of,” wrote Fauci in a Jan. 25, 2021, text exchange with then-Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Director Dr. Rochelle Walensky and Surgeon General Vivek Murthy.

“Since many people have significant cytokines storm and fever after the 2nd dose, this theoretically could be associated with miscarriage in the 1st trimester,” added the then-National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases director.

Well…did the miscarriage rate go up during the COVID years or not?

If yes, let’s compare the vaxed to the unvaxed.

If no, do we still need to discuss the relevance of a Fauci worry?

Fauci texted to other experts it was theoretically possible it could cause issues with pregnant women so studies are needed

The shot was not recommended to pregnant women at this time

The studies came out showing the shot was not a risk for pregnant women

The shot was then recommended

That’s the “gotcha”

Yeah this by itself isn't proof of anything.

You are bringing up back channel messages of asking for more information about concerns, and using it to "prove" that he knew there was problems based on statements he made months laters.

Fauci was an arse for most of this and I personally think he mismanaged it, but this doesn't move the needle. If there was no difference in miscarriage frequency between vaxxed or not, this is a nothing burger.

You literally have people here bitching that he potentially WASN'T full speed ahead, deploy no matter what, which is what they claimed all along.

Here's a clue, in this type of topic, anyone competent has doubts. Nothing in medicine is ever 100% clear, especially early on in new med development. That's the problem. Finding the balance between due diligence and saving lives.

More than your right to be proud

Just letting that poster know there are no associated risks for miscarriage still with studies reaching almost a million now of pregnant women and the vaccine

It's not the discussing. Hell, it's not the "We did gain of function and tragically a sample got loose." It's the false claim that the shot was perfect, there were no concerns or questions, the lie that it originated in a wet market, the lie that ivermectin was ineffective horsewormer.

It's the lying about little things that made people trust nothing, even obviously true things. He destroyed trust in our institutions.
