Just wondering about those who have newer vehicles that require software updates.
What make/model and how often does it require updates?
‘25 Ram 1500. Have had the truck for about 20 months and has needed 3 software updates.

Company provided Ford Maverick. 2 software updates.

I swear I get one once a month here lately on my '24 GMC 1500. Nothing is ever improved, the radio is still shite.

Tesla just does it for you, never really notice until i see a "it's updated" notification.

I am totally suprised you are even notified when an update takes place. My security cameras and even my tv are updated periodically, and I don’t even know when it happens.

I've never had to do an update before. Do they tell you to download it on a USB to self install or do you have to go into the dealership?
Seems like a slick way to get you in front of a "Service Advisor" for other upsells

I’ve only had to do this on my current vehicle, but I am required to bring it to the dealership.

2024 Rav4, think it has pulled one update. It connects to my wifi network and does its thing so not really something I have to be involved with.

Most of them are just over the air updates that happen automatically while the vehicle is parked.

My wife’s Yukon gets an update like once a month. One of the updates took away the radio seek function of one of the steering wheel rocker switches. Now there’s 2 rocker switches on the steering wheel that do the same thing. Been multiple updates since they fricked that up and it’s still fricked.

Decline the updates, and turn off updates going forward. I can't use my Ford app anymore because I refused to accept the new privacy terms.
