Had to pay to park at the Monteleone the other day. $48 for freaking valet, but I wasn't leaving my car out in the open. Gonna write that one off, but I still hate to spend any money in that parish.

I've never seen so much graffiti on businesses, schools, homes. It honestly looks like some post-apocalyptic zombie movie set. Unbelievable.

The city was far far and away better off when Carlos Marcello was running it.

There are large chunks of areas all over the city that have gentrified & are a whole lot better than they were 20yrs ago.

Litter & blight were a problem then, too.

Someone broke into my next door neighbor’s house earlier today. No chance I get any sleep tonight.

Sure, it's definitely worse today than it was 15-20 years ago, but it's been crap my entire life.

There are videos of some of New Orleans finest, passed out drunk on the street, and other "everything you love about New Orleans" types raping said passed out drunk guys.

We used to like taking day trips every now and then, taking the kids to the zoo/aquarium, or take adult trips on a saturday to go eat at some of the restaurants. I will NEVER set foot in that city of my own free will as long as the LaToya crew continues to welcome the pending apocalypse that awaits that pile of shite city. It is a disgusting place all around.

Now would be a good time for the mafia to come back, especially in Democrat cities. If the mayor and DA will do nothing to protect the innocent, and are only concerned with ensuring violent criminals are released as long as they are black, then the innocent people of that city need another option for protection from the animals in that city.

Only on the OT would a post like this get this many upvotes.

Imagine coming here and saying I visited Nashville on google earth and it looks shitty. You’d get downvoted to oblivion.

I imagine most of the downvoters were born in the 90s or later and have zero frame of reference.
I remember going to the Plaza in the East in the 80s. Now, I'm not saying it was so nice that you didn't need to lock your doors. But it certainly didn't look like Mogadishu after being cluster bombed either.
