Culturally, its better if the schools are separated. I get why they did it after Katrina, but its rebounded enough to get them their own school.

No one at CHS currently was alive when that was the case… I think what you’re describing will happen if we get a private or Catholic school back in the parish, but that’s not likely.

Thats another thing that annoys me.

Two Catholic churches for the whole parish?

I remember when we had all them neighborhood catholic churches and schools.

Sucks for them kids now.

Yeah but have you met the mom and Dad? Unbearable

I knew them, had mom twice in HS for math, dreaded her as the family was the polar opposite of sports people like me, but I think I made an A in one of those classes. She passed away a few years ago. Without them we don’t have the theater program we have.

The secondline at the opening of the WalMart was enough to do that.

I remember her daughter came on the tv to do the morning announcements (she wasn’t the normal person for that) and the whole football home room booed (well probably not our current principal who was in that home room, he was the co-star in the plays with her)

Port Fourchon

LA1 Groundbreaking Ceremony - Press Release 06/24/2022

LADOTD Press Release

All three sites note the number of daily trucks traveling the Port each day. There's also traffic studies from DOTD available as well. Most folks don't realize there's 250 businesses in Port Fourchon.

I would believe the studies. Just doesn’t feel like that many when going down there.

Guess it feels like you are always stuck behind a truck though.

I mean I see the similarities, but you cant fault people for not trusting the state to frick up a project and never do what they intend.

Right now that whole corridor from 510 to Paris to st Bernard hwy down that area would be royally fricked with traffic if they dont build that first. Traffic is already awful.

Jesus man I have no idea the references you are citing. Get in your Prius and leave me alone. I’ll comment less if it appeases you

Absolutely, the port is already the largest export port in the country and modernizing our import infrastructure will be enormous for all of the area.

100%

Still dont trust the gov to build the proper infrastructure within my lifetime for this project

Its going to happen for sure too much money to leave on the table.

But never underestimate the State to royally screw up something thats a good thing

No, but I'd like to see Louisiana do better than bending over their citizens every chance they get.

I support the port, data centers, and bringing in whatever industry. Our current method of handing out tax breaks and giving in to every whim has gotten us last place. And calling them out gets you labeled a liberal.
