Isn’t that right by the Brothers Chicken Mart?

Eta: still nothing on NOLA.com about this as of 12:00 p.m. the following day.

Eta again: still nothing.

Why do people willingly live in NO?

Why do people willingly volunteer to visit there?

I get that out of town convention tourists might get herded in due to some rosy, picturesque Hollywood view of New Orleans. But why would anyone who lives close enough to get a daily dose of news on the sh*tshow choose to go there in good clothes and a nice car for a civilized outing?

Not blaming the victims, just saying we shouldn't rely on the Causeway commission to put up a sign on the southbound lanes to declare the current iteration of NO a travel warning zone. Vote with your wallets people, before they take them from you.

If you are going to the FQ for dinner, maybe not the best idea to park in the CBD such that you will have to walk across Canal late at night.

You see, this is what happens when you can’t have midnight basketball and in-person night classes at Tulane because if COVID.

Thanks Trump.

i rarely go to the FQ, but if i do, i take a cab/uber/lyft to the door of the place i am going.

also, as was asked a bit ago, you think the reaction will be different when one of these victims defends themselves and sends a few rounds downrange??

It's crap like this that makes me not give a shite when the cops shoot a felon.

It may be true that "just because (insert name of BLM hero) committed violent crimes in the past, doesn't justify what the police did." But I don't give a shite. I'll save my concern for people like the couple in the OP.

I used to live in an apartment right around that intersection (Common/Carondelet). There were always some sketchy people hanging out in front of that Brothers Chicken Mart.

Also, Canal Street is just such trash. It’s so sad how the former crown jewel boulevard of the city has become a cesspool of crime.

Does every surveillance camera in New Orleans come specially equipped with an extra blurry lens?
