Same year as the new Lake Charles bridge?

One of three final potential bridge locations

They don't even have the location selected and we are to believe that it will be built by 2033.

It'll be a boon to St. George once it's built. In 2063.

Was supposed to be a bypass of BR before it was built in ‘68. State legislature had it moved downtown for their convenience

If constructed, the bridge would become the third place to cross the Mississippi in Baton Rouge,

Honestly, the State is too broke to build another Bridge. It’s like a homeless guy living in the ditch next to Walmart talking about building a 4000 sq in U-Club.

We will have flying cars before a new bridge is built. I seriously believe this.

Don't get me wrong, imminent domain can suck a fat one. And she's right to fight it tooth and nail. But do it honestly.

Hate people like you. You realize how fricked this country would be without imminent domain. You would not have any electricity because nat gas pipelines deliver the energy source for turbines that power the grid. You would not be able to drive because there would be no pipelines to deliver oil to refineries thereby no gasoline. You wouldn't be able to cook food because no electricty or gas stove because nat gas would be gone.

Food prices would go up because NIMBY's don't want an ammonia plant near them. That ammonia helps crops grow better, more efficiently. Without the ammonia, less crops, less supply same demand means higher prices. Actually there wouldn't be an ammonia plant in the first place as ammonia is made from nat gas, and nat gas pipelines wouldn't exist as its feedstock without imminent domain.

Your life would suck immensely more without imminent domain. NIMBY's can suck my fat chok. They think solely about themselves and not the betterment of the masses. Selfishness.

Proactive planning! It’s 15yrs too late today. And it will never be ready on time…in 8 yrs, 20+ yrs too late.

They could plant saplings now, in a new location, and have an old-growth forest by the time the bridge is built.

The same family raised holy hell when their property was cut off by the levee and they could no longer log it.

Now that it's sitting there... It's OH THE TREES.

Not the same family.

Also. It wouldn't have gotten registered as an old growth forest with cypress trees older than the US if it had been a logging site.

New Orleans needs another bridge also. If y’all are dissatisfied with this one, we’ll take the money and add one. Don’t care what path it takes. Just need to take pressure off the CCC.

If it was fully subsidized and greenlit today, the Louisana state gov still couldn't construct a bridge by 2033
