Let's be honest, most people who buy them have no need for a $70k "full package" pickup truck.

Chevy had a little one too. I love old pickups.

Yep it was made by Isuzu. It was an exact clone of their P'UP

That Mazda pickup looks really cool. I also like the VW pickup that they sell overseas.

Given Mazda's struggles, it's mystifying why they wouldn't bring that over.

They have a history of selling pickups in the US. And they make really good vehicles (the ones from Japan, especially). I have a Honda, Mazda, and Toyota in our stable. Two if you count my kid's old 4runner. The Mazda seems to be right up there with the old 4Runner in terms of build quality, ahead of the modern Honda/Toyota

It is not mystifying. Trucks are not imported into the US because of the chicken tax, 25% tariff on light trucks.

Bullsh*t. Have you seen the size of my pecker?

You can't put a price to that.

The LUV was made by Isuzu, as was the Class 5 and 6 Low Cab Forward medium duty trucks. Then GM built the Isuzu Ascender, Hombre, I-Series pickup, and Class 7-8 medium duty trucks for Isuzu.

GM owned most of Isuzu for a while, primarily for their diesel engines in overseas markets. The original Duramax in the US was co-developed with GM and Isuzu. I think they are still partners for medium duty trucks.

A lot of S-10 and Colorado based Isuzu pickups came out of the Shreveport factory until 2011 or so.

Sorry, some people aren’t interested in financing $60k trucks for 8 years.

Why did the discontinue the Sport-Trac

The 2004 in that edition looks better than this?

I’m old enough to remember when the greatest generation would drive nothing but Lincoln Continentals, Town Cars, Cadillac Sedan De Villes, Fleetwood Broughams, and Chrysler New Yorkers and Imperials.

Fact is, probably 80%+ of those driving full sized pickup trucks should actually be driving land yachts, such as the ones mentioned above. You’d be more comfortable, the status acknowledgment you seek would still occur, and you wouldn’t drive a vehicle with capabilities that you don’t need.

No one wanted them.

The V8 sport tracs would probably be a nice truck to have around.

Man, I don’t care what anyone says…that new Hyundai Santa Cruz front end with those grill LEDs is sick. Love it that small (affordable) trucks(lits) are being made again. Let’s face it, full-size trucks are Family haulers now…these smaller unibody ones would suit most people’s needs.

Moms made Pops buy her a 73 Ford Maverick. I miss that big green metal dash...
But it would scoot!

Not a looker.

The $20k introductory price makes it a great option. Especially for a kids first car, like the old school Rangers.

Exactly what I thought (as my son starts to drive next year).....

3 cylinder standard. Option is 2.0 4cyl with 240 hp and 270 torque and 4 WD.

Not a bad little package for what it is. Std equipment is ac, power step and windows and cell phone play software crap.
