It's dilution effectiveness on a cost basis at scale. The drug business is a business.
I get at the user end a person thinks, "Wow! I don't think I need anything 10x as strong as fentanyl." A drug dealer says, "Wow! Even though it might be twice as expensive as fentanyl, I'll only need 1/10th as much."

No pills off the street are safe anymore. If it doesn't come from a prescription you took and picked up at the pharmacy yourself, leave it alone.

Not trying to be insensitive, RIP to those people, but there's an easy way to not at risk for an overdose...the acceptance of drug culture in colleges and Greek life specifically needs to stop.
I went to a sorority formal a little over a decade ago and they had guys doing blow off the back of a toilet in a public bathroom. They ended up getting arrested. Just so stupid.

A LARGE portion of the time this is due to human error in handling the drugs when pressing the fake pills. You're not exactly dealing with Walter White or even Jesse Pinkman in that scenario.
