Is this something that could come and go over a few days? Oldest had a nagging infection that lasted awhile. And one day after playing around a lot started complaining of leg pain in the groin area. We just assumed a soft tissue injury with all of the running & jumping. Suddenly started complaining they couldn't walk because of the pain; coincidently right at bedtime. Iced it and off to sleep. Fine the next day, then suddenly a flare up after a lot of running around. This happened 4-5 times over a weekend.
Sure.

Tends to be in the lower extremities, primarily calves.

It’s probably being brought in by the nasty foreigners being provided red carpet treatment by our gov.

Viral myositis. We see it ALL THE TIME in kids, usually due to influenza (flu A last season). GBS is a flaccid progressive paralysis that starts in the legs and moves upwards.

Sinus issues for me started in June. I could hardly breathe due congestion for the past week. It's finally breaking up. My legs work just fine. the really suck part was all the limbs, as well as cutting up the dead tree which fell into our yard and hauling both sources of debris to the curb while having breathing issues.

FTR, I really wanted to phuck yesterday afternoon when breathing became easier. Wife was too tired from her work in the yard,

Beginning of the school year after these allowed mass invasions always seems to bring in viruses that are new to the US or bring back stuff from the past due to not requiring vaccinations to enter (some cases I think they get passes from schools as well).

Rapes, murders, disease, getting taxpayer money, and eating cats - the joys of illegal immigration as well as rapid and almost blanket refugee programs where the feds also get to push placement without consent of those already there.

I got GBS from a flue shot in 2020, Hands and feet are still pretty numb. Was fine one day and 72 hours later could hardly walk. 4 nights in hospital getting immuno globulin treatments at 45K a pop, 8 weeks of physical therapy and occupational therapy. Don't wish that shite on anyone.

I had terrible congestion for a week about a month ago. At the same time my hamstrings were extremely sore and my back issues flared up. Wonder if it was a similar issue.

For what it’s worth this happened to me in my calves during flu b and also first time I got Covid in 20 and 21 respectively. Think it’s just a shitload of cytokines dumped into your system and you feel it in the muscles that are working the most.

Seems to be more common recently. I read an article a few weeks ago about these upper respiratory infections preceding issues with legs/partial paralysis. They were investigating a correlation with one of the covid vaccines, though it might not have been a US one, I didn't recognize the name of the vaccine.

I didn't pay much attention to the article, might not have been US patients. The OP is the second time I've heard of it.

I certainly did not need another thing to worry about killing/maiming me...

Had that version of a nasty sinus infection- never had chills or body aches but did have low grade fever.

What? Please show me the statistics that back this up. I know I personally have had the flu way more than 2-3 times over my lifetime.

Not really.

I’m just wondering why the sudden explosion of it, at least in the LP area, in the last few weeks.

It's important to wash your hands and cook food to the right temperature.

Also, the bacteria that causes this is endemic to asia and the middle east, open borders don't help either.

Food poisoning caused by Campylobacter species can be severely debilitating, but is rarely life-threatening. It has been linked with subsequent development of Guillain–Barré syndrome, which usually develops two to three weeks after the initial illness.

That's another thing about these food-born illnesses, it might not be the thing you ate the day you start feeling bad.

Bump.

Virus linked to paralyzing found in waste water.

quote:

Wastewater samples have shown elevated levels of a respiratory virus that has been linked to paralysis in some children, sparking concerns about potentially rising cases in the U.S., according to a report from WastewaterSCAN.

The virus, enterovirus D68, is one of "100 non-polio enteroviruses," according to Cleveland Clinic’s website.

While the virus itself is common, neurological complications are "relatively rare," the clinic noted.

I started feeling bad Tuesday evening. Fever, body pain and headaches. All these symptoms Wednesday and Thursday, felt better Friday and went to work. Saturday morning wake up to the same symptoms and still that way today. Dr says no Covid or Flu so I don't know what to do. I have had enough of this crap. I don't have any other symptoms but I do have CLL, so I'm sure that doesn't help.

The posted study says GB less likely IF you had the Vax.
